  1. Militarism is a substitution for Bread and Circuses. It perpetuates a myth that the State is at all times threatened, and urges the populace to either enlist, or indirectly serve the military industrial complex. By doing this, it eliminates the need to focus on pesky things like civil and political rights, and removes and disunity by making civil disobedience illegal. It's pretty much synonomous with tyranny.
  2. After getting an opportunity to meet Romney when He came down in '12 to JetTech in Cincinnati, I personally like Him. He doesn't give off the bat !@#$ crazy vibe that Rubio, Walker and Palin do. Personally, what this nation needs is not a violent swing to the right that will inevitably accomplish nothing, but a slow gradual return to the center-right. A healthy respect for civil liberties (marriage equality, less gun control, devolving abortion issues back to the states, and a reduction in regulations all across the board), and an increase in fair minded business legislation will do wonders.
  3. I tend to agree. A government of sufficient size will ultimately grow to oppress the people it controls. Mostly this is due to the influence of money, and political factionalism. Tell that to the Romans, who went through a slew of them and it ultimatley led to poor management and their downfall.
  4. That's an interesting point. I know a lot of people went to Terra initially, but because that game has a total lack of support from the Staff, it has died for about the second or third time now. People are so bored with (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways), that they are giving other games a chance and despite what people say about P&W, it will still have a decent following so long as work on it continues and major bugs are removed. The question is more about the dynamic politics. Will P&W get to the level of mature political and alliance status? Probably not for a few years, honestly.
  5. Anything that streamlines the bureacracy, is a plus. However the aspirations and right to self determination by the people should be balanced. As I see it, you're doing the best, likely with low activity and participation.
  6. Ultimately what is going to determine the longevity of this game is how people take it. If people form guilds solely for the "Lulz" factor, then I think it might detract from the game's more legitimate political and roleplaying aspects. Peole will be hesitant to take it seriously.
  7. No, not really. I don't think I rate anywhere important on anyone's radar. But I know my name used to piss people off or make them wary because I was a douche in other places. Just wanted to try to start fresh.
  8. Well, to be fair, this introduction as I stated, was for those who did know...
  9. Hello, I'm going to mostly direct this introduction towards the people who know me, and probably dislike me. I just want to say whomever you might be and whatever our differences might be, I am sure you honestly don't know who I really am and how much you've experienced or heard is mostly smoke. I came here for a fresh start from (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways), and I generally hold no ill will towards anyone for anything. If you still don't like me, that's fine. I am just asking you guys to let by gones be by gones, and we'll stay out of each other's ways. I hope we can work out whatever issues there are, so that we can move forward and enjoy the community together as a part of it. Thanks. - SIn
