Nation name: Federation of Free Communes Official currency: The Gold Standard (Internally: Barter System) Form of government: Authoritarian Socialism Describe your nation: Inspired by the model of Makhnovism, a young Ukrainian ex patriot named Lev Krasnopetsov, along with several comrades, has formed a popular movement based around the principle ideals of a libertarian communist society. As the Black Army has begun to liberate localities from political entities, Lev was quick to take notice of the clashes among cultural and class lines often being summarily judged upon by whoever held the most guns, ironically being his own forces - and often times these struggles would end in further division between the common people, of whom Lev saw no distinction other than comrade. Lev and his fellows have worked tirelessly in the efforts of propaganda, knowing that while the idea of a free and stateless people was the only guiding light for the Workers struggle... man's reliance on archaic systems was too harsh to break with one strike of the hammer. So it fell to Lev to become the idea made flesh. What started as a leaflet campaign to curb looting among the ranks became a full scale campaign, rocketing Lev into lofty places, with one even having the title of "Grand Companion." He would be Socialism and all that it could be. Maybe then, if he could show the world behind their borders how safe man could be with true freedom, his people would accept his heavy hand in reorganizing their affairs. With a degree of stability, the Free Territory has begun to collect itself into communes, though the administration's reluctance to either redistribute wealth themselves or allow localities to do the dirty work for them has hampered the rapid acceleration of socialism in the more urban collectives to the south.
