  1. You forgot the 4th option of where former paracov alliances and affiliated alliances either implode and reform new alliances aligned with the current ruling sphere or current paracov alliances do much like what Rose has done and align themselves with the ruling sphere. Such an event would see inevitable internal tension occur within the ruling sphere which would only be exacerbated further by the lack of an opposing sphere. Over time such internal tension will naturally and inevitably end in war.

The nature of hegemonic spheres is largely cyclical, two spheres battle it out, one loses and the other becomes dominant, the losing sphere eventually implodes or becomes a fringe remnant, the dominant sphere becomes larger on new found success but inevitable internal drama and rivalry creates tension leading to the sphere breaking apart into opposing sides thus starting the cycle all over again.

Now, by my guess we are in our roughly third, perhaps fourth, such cycle already and sure the current ruling sphere's dominance is certainly more pronounced but it still falls within the general cyclical pattern all the same. It sucks to be on a losing side opposing the dominant sphere but that is just the nature of the game at the end of the day.

  2. Clearly he is going to use all these credits to create and upload a series of "tS sux" flags and advertisements in order to discredit tS on a massive level and bring down their financial monopoly once and for all.

tS...you have been warned. You clearly have met your most dangerous foe yet....

    Or not :P

  3. To be honest, I don't think trump is actually an extremist. He is a populist saying extremist statements to gain popular support but I think we will see a toning down of the rhetoric now that he is in a position of influence. I've been informed that the banning of Muslims coming to the US has already been removed as an actual policy from his agenda as an example.

It's simply what populists do at the end of the day. Once everything calms down it should be readily apparent that a few of the irrational policies coming from trump are precisely that. Irrational. No modern democratic leader constrained by a representative government could possibly dream of enacting some of the policies trump has spoken of after all.

  4. Heh, think the media and political establishment is failing to understand the rise of populist politics precisely because people are sick and tired of professional elitist politicians. It just makes the rise of populist leaders from across the spectrum inevitable in that regards since it's the only way to bring about reform which the political elites refuse to embrace and implement.

Sanders no longer has to humiliate himself before Clinton it seems. See folks this is how you do it if on the other side. As you can see when it comes to the working class Sanders is ready to work with Trump and not just refuse because LITERALLY HITLER!

Pretty interesting read on the current voting stats published for a few states. All hypothetical but it all relates to why clinton took such a walloping dished out by the middle and working class.

  6. I think protests and riots were always going to happen no matter who won this election. More a symptom of the political climate within the US in general than any particular issue which can be attributed to any one "side".

Truth of the matter is you have a massive element of the population who are disaffected on either "side" of the political spectrum and who simply refuse to act in a civilised manner within a  modern democratic society. Trump is going to have to find an approach which deals with this discontent across the entire political spectrum because if he doesn't he will simply fail to govern the country effectively and won't achieve any of his electoral promises. Pretty keen to see if he can actually do it to be honest.

  7. Aaaand the political elites taking elections for granted just took another bloody nose. About time too for that matter.

The logic of clinton's campaign managers eluded me when they started parading out a horde of super wealthy celebrities to publicly endorse Clinton in order to gain more votes. Not sure if they realised but when you have a disgruntled working and middle class electorate seeking better economic prospects, a parade of wealthy celebrities ( Katy perry...really?) telling people who to vote for is just going to have the opposite effect and instead piss people off.

Not a trump fan myself, not a fan of Hilary either. If the democrats had put forth a decent candidate with some actual passion people could relate to then I suspect trump would have lost but instead they put forth some lifeless political elite who stood for nothing and ultimately gained nothing.

Certainly not as dramatic a result as the media is claiming it to be though. Things will carry on as usual and in a week or two, this latest piece of news will be replaced by something else the media finds more interesting.

  8. I'll be honest, it's one thing to complain about it being a change that will negatively impact you and the timing, but this RL time argument isn't really one that holds up.

Everyone that participates devotes their time. Things get destroyed all the time that people sunk RL time/money into. Sometimes your efforts will end up being upended and that's part of playing a game. There isn't really any guarantee of the game staying the same to make sure you get a return on the time invested. More drastic changes than this have the potential of happening. It sucks for Jessica since she's a good person and she's good at what she does but work people have put in goes to waste all the time.

    Shocker incoming...

But I actually agree with roq on this one.

I think the game should be rolled back to the last update or have these new changes implemented at the next treasure spawn event but I don't think bringing up the amount of time people invest in this game should be used as justification for a particular argument.

Plenty people invest a great extent of their time into this game, it really shouldn't mean that they have more say or influence as a result of this investment.

  9. I have thought for a long time that treasures should not offer only economic bonuses, could perhaps split treasures up into a few categories where one category offers the standard gross income boost, another category offers gross production boosts and others could lower disease, pollution or even offer some military bonuses.

Keep the same amount of treasures but just split them up into categories so the competition for a specific category of treasure increases and potentially creates the conflicts we were meant to see originally with them. Perhaps even offer an additional bonus on top of the individual treasure bonuses if an alliance could collect a whole set of one particular category of treasures.

Throw some chaos in the mix and let the fun occur on its own essentially.

  10. No, this is self-serving as hell and just fits your "I hate Roq" narrative. The NPO sucks poll was up way before I started posting and there are other examples. Hell, the Chim comment would fit or some of the responses to most of the NPO treaty topics before that.

They could go and read, but I don't think it will help you much.

Um, I would fully expect people on the opposing side to show dislike for a polarizing alliance on the other side, which happened with previous enemies.

It's not really recent and it's not unrelated. I can point to Fist's comment and similar ones about reps and such all day.

This will be the last time I address your anti-Roq bullshit and honestly it reflects poorly to keep injecting your personal feud into things, Charles.

There you go again, "Charles is mean to me" therefore he has some hidden agenda. Just to clarify here, I hadn't spoken to you for over a year, perhaps even more, I didn't keep track until the build up to the last war. What broke that silence is when you deliberately took a quote of mine concerning my personal opinion on you alone and posted it here in this realm as some evidence of my bias against NPO entirely and applied that same bias to tS entirely.

I don't have a personal feud with you Roq, if any other person acted in the way you have been acting I would be just as critical of them (Ask tS gov if you don't believe me, heck, they probably get far worse and more rigorous criticism to be honest). I genuinely believe you are just a manipulative and deceptive person. I truly don't believe that even you believe this constant nonsense of NPO is a victim because of (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) narrative you post constantly because no reasonable person could reasonably believe such a preposterous notion. It is all just a ploy at attempting to manipulate simple-minded persons into agreeing with you and a poor attempt at deflecting the responsibility for your own leadership failings onto our side.

I don't like you, that much is  a given but to somehow say I am biased against NPO entirely due to my dislike of you is simply stretching the limits of logic. Either that or it is just a convenient manner of dismissing posts which reveal exactly the sort of conduct you have engaged in both privately and publicly. I don't like you, you don't like me but this constant reversion of claiming bias from (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) every time someone disagrees with you is just not doing you any favours.

Start acting with some dignity befitting an Emperor of NPO in a manner similar to your predecessors and you might get a different reaction on these forums which is actually beneficial to NPO. That isn't some jab, it isn't some low blow, it is just a dose of constructive criticism aimed at helping you because I genuinely want nothing for the best for NPO. We on this sphere need a competent alliance on the opposing side and so far in this topic and a few others, all you and a few other pacificans have done is drive away potential supporters and friends. It is a selfish reason I agree but I am being honest at least :P

In regards to disliking alliances on the opposing side, I myself don't really dislike any of them. I have criticisms of various alliances but then again I have criticisms of every alliance including my own (which is perfectly natural and indeed healthy I think?) But you yourself cannot honestly look over the last few relevant topics and believe that NPO's conduct has been in a manner aimed at gaining respect. Instead we have all been subjected to this constant playing of the victim card coupled with condescending posts about NPO's apparent superiority.

How do you honestly expect to gain positive results by acting in such a manner?

  11.

I wouldn't really say it'd be me/us stoking the fires when other people keep bringing it up. I certainly didn't want to have to deal with it, but people won't leave it alone. It's not really unclear who started it, to be honest since everyone who had an issue started coming out of the woodwork as soon as I started posting, which was in response to the callouts and screenshot leak. It's continued unprompted.

This much is true, the anti-NPO rhetoric was negligible until you started the never-ending flood of victim card posts last war and complete refusal to acknowledge that MI6 and tS were two entirely distinct entities.

Like honestly, if anyone wants to see the lengths we at tS went to in order to convince Roq that we were entirely distinct entities then apply for a NPO mask on tS' forums. It became a constant merry go round of "you guys are MI6" followed by a wall of text from tS members with logical points proving otherwise only for roq to respond "but you guys are MI6" repeated page after page

When you take such things into account, the recent public dislike for NPO shown on these forums even by alliances who have had minimal contact with NPO in any realm is perfectly explainable.

The dislike has nothing whatsoever to do with the conduct of other NPO branches or actions in other realms.
