Inaugural Headlines: Alliance In Uproar!
Welcome to the official news broadcasting system of the People's Southern Ocean Republic of Arkez!
We have some dramatic, albeit short headlines today.
Protests Arise Against Alliance Merger!
The leadership of the Socialist Workers Front has been dissolved, and the country is in an uproar. The leader of the alliance, known as the "Milkman", has agreed to a merger with Ingen. This has caused the entire alliance to fall into an uproar. The Grand Chairman Pyer Toh gave a speech today at one of the thousands of state-sanctioned rallies.
You may try to merge with InGen. But we will not. We will stay in this alliance even if we are the only member left. We will miss the People's Democracy of Greece, but if that country leaves the alliance, we will only get a new leader. We will not give up on the very people who fought with their own blood and bones to keep this revolution alive. They have put their trust in us. We cannot let them down.
The leaders of other countries within the alliance have also expressed their outrage
The Socialist State of Maine has released this statement
This merger is nothing short of selling out to the corporate fascist agenda. My nation joined this alliance as a way to shield itself from the influence of the capitalists, and yet now the alliance is seriously considering joining forces with InGen, an alliance full of the very capitalist swine we loathe. At this moment I am ashamed of this Government, and I not only beg you all to block this merger, but I further beg you all to vote out this Government at the soonest possible date. This transgression against the people, and against the dream of socialism, cannot be forgiven.
The Socialist Republic of Tumen has released this statement
This international alliance of workers and peasants will not be dissolved, nor will it be merged with bourgeois Imperialist alliances! Any attempt to dissolve or sell out the Socialist Workers' Front to the Capitalists is high treason!
The Nation of Woodbury has also expressed its discontent with the hasty and opaque decision made by the Milkman as well as Arkez's closest ally, Sovietistan. Woodbury's official statement can be viewed in Edition 6 of their news network.
Mass protests have erupted within Arkez as a result of this merger.
