Santiago Pereira
I think it would be cool to have some kind of tourism/travel mechanic in the game. Tourism is often a huge part of a nation's income and a critical issue in politics and wars, so I think we should include it somehow. Here's my idea; Nations would have the option to build air and sea ports in their cities, which would increase their nations tourism score (much like commerce). A high tourism score would increase income by increasing commerce (to a lesser degree compared to regular commerce improvements). It would also have an affect on your approval rating (higher tourism helps approval). If you wanted to go really crazy, tourism could be expanded to a full-fledged mechanic in its own right like baseball, where countries can set up travel agreements/bans with nations and whatnot. They could also found things like airlines, cruise lines, etc. to connect their nations. None of this would have any affect on the mechanics of the game, but it would be a sort of sidepiece like baseball. Just spitballing ideas, really. Bolby Ballinger
If built in each city I feel like that's just another commerce building. And making it less powerful than commerce buildings just means it won't be used at all. As for the travel ban thing I think that's just trade embargos. And there's next to no alliances that actually use those so I can't see it being different here. I think this idea would only work if your nations approval rating had actual in-game effects. And that would be an AWFUL idea in this game. As it stands I've spent multiple months of peace followed by a few weeks of victorious wars to get my nation a bit past 50% approval. Over the past few days of being dogpiled and losing every war (not even being out of any resources) I'm at negative 26%. The way the approval rating is done in this game would have to be completely overhauled for it to be balanced. Like, if the current version had in-game consequences this game would have been abandoned years ago. The idea's not a bad one. In a nation sim game that focuses on economic competition with war as a side dish/counterplay option it would be right at home. But Politics and War isn't that kind of game. Santiago Pereira
I see. Maybe then just don't make it involved in any in-game mechanics, but rather just a sidepiece like baseball is that you can use to make a little money or smth.
