Recruiting seems overpowered

So I'm still pretty new to the game, but based on the 35 messages I've gotten within hours of signing up, it's clear that one of the highest priorities for alliances here is simply to attract as many players as they can. Alts are probably also a big issue

One could simply try to restrict aggressive recruiting in some way. But really, shouldn't the game be about making strategic decisions within the game, rather than seemingly mostly to recruit as many players as possible?

If so, what methods could you use to solve that?

I'm thinking one way may be to simply make the non-recruiting part of the game more benefitial compared to recruiting, and more challenging. Or indirectly make it harder to keep a large amount of players in an alliance, but since there is no real map which could create genuine conflicts of interest (because of globally limited resources), I don't really see how that could work tbh. It seems almost like with no glibally limited resources, having 2 players who do the same things (investing in his local economy and such) will always be pretty much exactly 2x as powerful as 1 player who does those things, whereas if the game was played with some sort of globally limited resources, there'd be competition over those

But I don't know, maybe there could be some way of doing that, even without a map. Any ideas on that?

Best to ignore the ads and join a young alliance cause they are more likely to let you in then veterans with lots of allies to back them.

But being in a micro group has it's and cons  plus big players won't take you seriously unless the team, you are in knows what they are doing.

uh, no? most people join established alliances, or their training alliance if they have one and rise that way. all alliances are eager to have new, (non-toxic) members. I myself joined a micro when I started out and that worked well for me though. (a miracle to be honest)
