David John Alexander Posted January 21, 2018 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Last Monday, 205 members of Central Committee and its Standing Committee attended a meeting which held at the CPC Headquarter. At this meeting, the Central Committee of Communist Party of China authorized the high leadership composition changes within the party institution based on the results of the 19th National Congress of Communist Party of China which was held on October 2017. In addition as the core institution of the Communist Party of China, the Central Committee also discussed the matters of National Development, National Security and recent global issues that may faced by the People’s Republic. The Meeting also discussed about the far-reaching technological innovations that will be undertaken by People’s Republic of China. Party Leadership Changes The meeting inaugurated the 19th Central Politburo and its Politburo Standing Committee, and the members of Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the internal discipline institution that has come to political foreground. Chen Yong (Head of Military Intelligence Department) New Institution within the Communist Party In addition to changes in leadership composition, the Central Commission also authorized the establishment of a new institution named Party Leading Group for Space. The Institution will coordinate the implementation of space policy based on the party’s program especially in the Far-Reaching Scientific Advancement Policy. It is directly under the Central Committee and is responsible to both National Congress and Central Committee. The Party Leading Group for Space is currently headed by a former Astronaut Liu Yang who was also the first Chinese female in space. “Carrying out space program is not focused only at sending humans into space per se, but instead at enabling humans to work in space normally, also preparing for unlimited exploration and beyond.” Party Leading Group for Space Chairman 1.
