Charles de Gaulle Posted October 1, 2017 Share Posted October 1, 2017 Byzantium has had a long history,living from the pre- medieval times up until the modern age,the nation has had to rely upon it's arsenal of combined air,ground and naval forces to ward off attackers throughout the centuries. However,the military experienced a decline through the late 80's onwards as conflicts died down,however today's current wars show this is no longer the case. As a result, the government has finally launched the BRS(Byzantium Royal Ship) Constantinople,a small aircraft carrier into service with the Imperial Navy,and the carrier is made the official flagship of the Byzantine, following a ceremony in which Byzantine citizens of all ages were allowed to tour parts of the ship. Class and type: Constantinople-class aircraft carrier Displacement: 70,600 tonnes (69,500 long tons; 77,800 short tonnes) Length: 280 m (920 ft) Beam: 39 m (128 ft) (waterline) 73 m (240 ft) overall Draught: 11 m (36 ft) Propulsion: Two Rolls-Royce Marine 36MW MT30 gas turbine alternators and four 10MW diesel engines Speed: 29 knots (54 km/h) Range: 10,000 nautical miles (19,000 km) Capacity: 1,600 Troops: 250 Complement: 679 Sensors and processing systems: S1850M long range radar Type 997 Artisan 3D medium range radar Ultra Electronics Series 2500 Electro Optical System (EOS) Armament: 3 x Phalanx CIWS 4 x 30mm calibre gun, various Miniguns and GPMGs to counter asymmetric threats. Aircraft carried: 70 F-22 Raptor V-22 Osprey Eurocopter Tiger Westland Lynx Aviation facilities: Hangar below deck Two aircraft lifts Ski jump The ship is the 1st of 3 Constantinople class super carriers ordered by the Byzantine navy and will patrol the Adriatic sea.
