Further developments in Central Asia

Frankia

While the Frankians had preferred to stay out of Orbis affairs, they did come to value that world's growing inportance in interversal affairs. While other newcomers have been prone to quarrel with the locals as of late, Gerwannia has been relatively open to sharing technology and offerring humanitarian aid to  yet to be fully developed. Ironic, since the coming of the Empire was nothing of the sort.

Many were slain as the Frankians violently crushed any opposition to the maintenance of the King's Peace in the King's own lands. While the established ground forces were to be easily swept away, religious extremists proceeded to carry on the conflict through terrorist acts. Unfortunately for the Jihadists, the Frankians were to make concessions at the expense of the wealth of the Imams.

A National Syndicalist order was proclaimed, and a moderate tax on the practice of Islam and other anti-social behaviors was proclaimed in a policy of gradual enlightenment. These revenues were a convenient way for the Frankian authority to subsidize the erection of Triarchett across the land and not require additional funds from Gerwannia for further development.

When Frankian ground troops entered Samarkand they immediately aimed to make it a key port and a center of trade in the region.  Natives and newcomers were welcome to trade or do business with little interference from Frankian authorities. In time, Samarkand was proclaimed the capital of the Grand Colony of Aral.

"Soldiers, exactly at three o'clock, the enemy is to be crushed by your fierce charge, destroyed by your grenadesand bayonets. The honor of Belgrade, our capital, must not be stained. Soldiers! Heroes! The supreme command has erased our regiment from its records. Our regiment has been sacrificed for the honor of Belgrade and the Fatherland. Therefore, you no longer need to worry about your lives: they no longer exist. So, forward to glory! For the King and the Fatherland! Long live the King, Long live Belgrade!"
