[SYNDICATE, INC. ISSUES STATEMENT ON COMPROMISED ASSETS]

 

NASSAU, Bahamas, 2024-04-05:  SYNDICATE, Inc., (NYSE:SCC) deems it necessary to inform the community at large about recent events surrounding the former servers The Syndicate utilized for its public operations.

On the early hours of 04/04, the Board learned that the Discord account of the person who held ownership of both servers had been compromised via phishing. Efforts to back up the contents of both servers began immediately, and were completed midway through the day. Efforts to duplicate the servers' template likewise began immediately and were concluded by the next day, with the original owner of the account contacting Discord support to have the account frozen.

On 04/05, the perpetrator transferred ownership of the servers from the compromised account to a new account (a presumed buyer, according to this account). With the servers effectively lost, t$' govt proceeded with eliminating the now backed up contents of both servers and kicking everyone who wasn't a t$/e$ member (who had already been notified about the situation) to minimize the harm the perpetrator could carry out and to render his ill-gotten gains void. After trying and failing to everyone ping in the now hollow server, and after a self-incriminating conversation which was screen capped to provide to Discord support, the perpetrator proceeded to delete both old servers.

I wasn't in T$ at the time back for NPO, I was in BK and a whelp wet behind the ears, so I can't attest to who said what back then beyond what I've heard. For TFP though, what I'm saying is that assuming the best of an alliance takes some trust, and that isn't something that is just freely handed out. There was no effort from TFP's part in that regard, including no effort from Shwin towards me as alliance head to alliance head.

 

Taking something as a gesture of goodwill, or a sign that things will turn out better than they look takes trust. There was no explanation for the move, even though you're right and TFP didn't have to say that they were signing with Sing. All we were given was that a hostile alliance planned on signing with another hostile alliance that wants to roll us for revenge. No explanation was given and no "Hey were going to work on mending the fence and preventing a revenge war" was given. Perhaps we're going to be called opportunistic for this, but everyone in this game is opportunistic, that's part of the game.

At the time the war started, I was a normal member. I was made low gov about a month into the war and made a figurehead "high gov" December of that year, about two and a half months before the end of the war.

Two best examples are probably the Hollywood-Celestial demil situation back in 2022 where both sides de-milled, Hollywood re-milled to deal with raids from pirates and then hit Celestial despite telling Celestial their remilling was just to handle the pirates, and the NPO situation in 2019, where T$ believed that NPO and BK had actually split and that NPO was an ally that would keep its word....... and everyone recalls how that one went.

I would be more inclined to agree with your point if there had been a history of friendship and cooperation and openness between T$ and TFP, but there hasn't been. I'd be more inclined to agree if there had been a history of openness and friendship between Shwin and I, but there hasn't been. 

At no point since I became Executive has Shwin reached out to me or my staff about improving relations, or mending fences or anything of the sort, and outside of the one screenshot presented in Shwin's first post I don't know of any instances of that happening before I became Executive either. Hells, even in the very matter that led to this situation, the questioning of intentions after TFP was removed from WELP, Shwin reached out to CTO and Aurora about their intentions and asked THEM to ask T$ and SAIL of our intentions instead of coming to talk to us ourselves.

You're asking that we'd put a great deal of trust and faith in an alliance that we've had multiple years of bad blood with, have heard for months has has had ill will towards us, and has never reached out to us to improve relations or mend fences, especially when T$ has been bitten in the past when putting faith in and trusting other alliances to have good intentions towards us.

I'd like to honestly ask a question, and I don't want it to come across as being hostile or anything.

If you're told "Alliance A intends on allying with Alliance B, your enemy, an enemy who has made it clear they intend on attacking you in the future to get revenge" does it not stand to reason that, since everyone knows about Alliance B's desire for revenge, alliance A must be on board with that, and thus is fine with a future revenge war? And, with that in mind, if an alliance plans on attacking you in the future, and you find that they've ended up in a situation without allies, and you can attack them to set back their growth, and ensure they're weaker in the future if/when they come for revenge, would you say "No, I'll let them continue to grow unhindered" or would you capitalize on a chance to set back their growing by forcing a rebuild?

This Just In From Nassau: 

Despite great relations and impressive profits on both sides, The Syndicate INC has come to the decision that it must withdraw its staff from the city of Uritithu. After over a month of working together, including just under four weeks of fighting shoulder by shoulder against Southeasternmost state of the United States, which had somehow gained sentience, the decision was made by the Executive Board of The Syndicate to withdraw from the newly discovered markets of Roshar.

When The Syndicate called a meeting to discuss the matter of parting ways, the Executives Of The Syndicate and the Heralds of The Knights Radiant found that all present were of alike minds, and came to a mutual agreement to go their separate ways for the good of Orbis.

Concerns in the landscape of Orbis of this business pairing being too powerful for the health of the game, as well as the repeated claims of a member of the Executive Board who will remain unnamed that the water of Roshar tasted exactly the same as the water from the tap in his own home, or bottles of water he could buy at a gas station led to this decision being made.

The Syndicate INC wishes The Knights Radiant fair skies, warm winds, and fertile harvests going forward and asks that the business office in Uritithu be watched over and maintained, in case the markets of Orbis ever change and The Syndicate and The Knights Radiant find each other once again while looking for friendships.

After sailing West across the seas of the seemingly infinite world of Orbis for what seemed like an eternity, a Roman and a Jester in Red finally landed ashore at a mysterious continent, and were led to a fantastical city known as Urithiru. It was here, after days of feasting, drinking, and negotiations, a friendship was born. Despite failed attempts to make a profit off of the Stars themselves, and the movement of heavenly bodies, The Syndicate and The Knights Radiant of Uritithu have established formal relations, and a bond of friendship and solidarity.

The Syndicate has provided high tech weaponry and materials acquired by the economic connections of The Syndicate, while The Knights Radiant have provided previously unseen technology, technology some might call magic, and clean drinking water from the springs of Roshar, which some members of the Executive Board Of The Syndicate claim will dominate the bottled water market for years to come. To solidify their friendship, The Knights Radiant and members of the Executive Board of The Syndicate have agreed to come together to play a game of dodgeball, and prune overgrown rosebushes.

The Syndicate Declares War On Rose And Florida-Sphere For Backroom Dealings, and Hegemonic Sphere Creation!

 

Article I: Non-Aggression
Both signatories will from this point, until the end of the treaty, not partake in any form of hostile activity, be that military action, subversion or espionage of any kind, against one another, and each other's allies.
 

Article II: Mutual Defense
Should either signatory be the victim of an act of aggression, they may request military support, and the other signature is required to come to their aid, unless the former signatory had become involved in a conflict via other treaties with other alliances or blocs. In this situation, the request for aid is no longer mandatory, but is instead voluntary.

 
Article III: Optional Aggression
Should either signatory find it necessary to commit an act of aggression upon a third party, they must inform the other signatory at least 24 hours in advance. They may request military support from the other signatory, though this request is under no circumstances an obligation. The other signatory is also allowed to help the attacking signatory if no request for support has been requested.

 
Article IV: Aid
Should either signatory come into need of aid of either political or financial aid, they may request such support as is necessary from the other signatory. It is recognized, however, that this request is in no way an obligation.

 
Article V: Intelligence
If one signatory comes into possession of or is made aware of important information, be that military, economic, or political in nature, they are required to share said information with the other signatory.

 
Article VI: Cancellation
Should either party wish to terminate this agreement, they may do so with 72 hours notice. Once the notice period has expired, the treaty will be considered null and void. If a signatory violates the terms of this treaty in a grievous manner, the treaty may be considered null and void from the moment the other signatory delivers notice of cancellation
