  1. Quoted from the link you posted above "The report says that this discrepancy can be attributed to the fact that women tend to pursue fields that pay less than fields pursued by men. College majors that have high reported median earnings, like those in the STEM fields, consist of far more men than women, based on data taken from the National Center for Education Statistics and the US Census Bureau. By contrast, jobs in fields like education, social work, and nursing are largely female-dominated and pay substantially less than fields that are male-dominated." K, so people who work in different fields get paid differently? So do women in the same field get paid significantly less than men for the same work? The answer is no, and even if they do it's nowhere near 72 cents to every dollar, that's just ridiculous. The reason women "earn" less total is because they will usually take a long time off from work when pregnant and will usually look after the kids while the man works (e.g will go to part-time so she can pick them up from school or just quit work altogether and stay at home). While obviously this isn't always the case and the man can be the one to look after the kids while the woman works, it's not that common. Also a woman's preferred field can just be paid less, so it's also about what job field they wish to pursue. Anyway all you posted was one link which isn't even really academic which dosen't even say that women earn less compared to men because of sexism which is what many claim today, when it's really just economics and people's personal choices. I would post some sources I have but I'm in a bit of a rush atm so I will bit later. Btw, sorry if I came off as rude or nonsensical in this "rant" since I'm in a bit of a rush atm, and I did skim through parts of the article. I'll go over it again and edit if needed to fix anything dumb I said. Thanks
