Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown

                                                                                 - William Shakespeare

    Citizens!

Ever since the successive passing of our two supreme whales, Our lands gradually have spiraled into chaos and turmoil. No alliance, no community has gone unaffected by this degenerate darkness. The markets have slumped. The intellectually undeveloped have washed over the public fora in a tidal wave of idiocy. Nations burn. And amidst it all, Jacob wanders free across the land to preach his vile and venomous ideology.

Many yearn for a return to the prosperous stability of old; a world where the natural order is restored. Where things are right. In their desperation, citizens across the globe have reached out to the skies, to what deities they believe reside there. Hopeful prayers, desperate screams and everything inbetween. Yet the gods remained mute. For they had long vacated the premises and left the people to their own devices.

Yet your prayers have not gone unheard. For Hogwarts was reached. And Hogwarts now answers. From the stars we looked down, and made our revelation:

"Two champions have fallen, for they were imperfect. And with their demise, the sins of the world were laid bare. And so darkness enveloped all. Yet amidst suffering and pain, a new champion shall descend from above. A divine unifier, he shall represent the paradox of peaceful war. The union of hawk and dove. Indeed. He shall be the personification of our prowess.

As he descends from divinity he shall ascend. All shall bow, for he brings the kingdom. And the crown is his birthright. He who denies the righteous claim of our champion shall be denied his seat in the sky, when glory comes. For he is unworthy of the pixels he commands, and shall thus command none. So it is decreed. So it shall be.

And this unifier- this champion, he is our messenger. Your savior. He shall walk among you, and you shall rejoice. For he is the bringer of light, of justice and peace and all that is good. He shall father a new era. A golden era. Heed his commands. For they are the thin barrier between the kingdom on orbis, and the abyss."

Empowered by the divine scripture, I thusly summon forth your messiah and offer him his crown.

Rise, Lord Warpool the Bold, First of his name. Champion of Hogwarts, Creator of Coin, Bringer of Raids, Paradoxical Prodigy, Stabilizer of the common, Exorcist of idiocy, Educator of the subpar,  Nemesis of Trolls, Supreme Whale and Ruler of Pixels

    All Hail the King.

Undeveloped masses? Divine right to rule? Return to the natural order?

Comrades, lend me your ears! Hogwarts is an alliance of elitism and tyranny! Do not let these oppressors subvert your will with the honeyed words and their forked tongues! The inane babbling of their false ideologues serves but a singular sinister purpose: to retain the power and economic control that they have so devilishly seized. Their intent to return to the outdated ways of kings and lords is an obvious attempt to eschew the oppressive past in favor of rose-tinted revisionism!

It is not they who truly control the fate of our nations, but we, the people, who hold self-determination over ourselves! Do not allow these false gods to seduce you, their power is fleeting in this world and their desperation shines through in these propagandist outbursts!

Free yourselves, comrades! Break the chains of your oppressors!

  2. As someone on the opposite side of BK during these past events, I'd disagree. Strum and Yoso have a unique (see: lulzy) execution that works and results in minimum disdain. They and their coalition used that branding in their favour, while you guys failed to do the same by having Kastor and Lordaeron act instead. I really don't know what you expected to happen.

If you think about it, it's a real attempt at a win-win.

Kastor gets to feel important and like he's doing real politics. NPO gets to serve up their version of petty revenge (to the wrong people though, since BK is their ally now.) and if it was received badly, as it has been, they simply point at kastor.

  3. Kastor tried to copy old-school BK, turned into an FA disaster. Yup sounds right.

Only Yosodog and Strum could get away with the old-days level of !@#$ery.

From hitting TKR's ally (NPO) to mass-poaching attempts to New Prisoner's Order. Good times.

  4. Don't really know hidude at all so have no idea whether he would be accepted or not, but our tier cohesion strategy mostly applies to nations grown inside NPO. Nations that join from outside are welcome to join with higher levels, it'd just be on the understanding that there's only so much support we could provide to them militarily. I doubt we'd refuse someone that wanted to join that wasn't within our strength ranges, I just doubt it'd do much for that kind of person unless they strictly cared about NPO over and above themselves.

I honestly don't understand why anyone cares about their individual nation.

Unless you're doing some fraggle-esque stuff and basically solo'ing the game.

  5. Note that all the shit posters are from NPO. The other alliances are interestingly silent.

also @ steve - I appreciate NPO for going for an unorthodox strategy and shaking things up. Can't exactly praise them though.

  6. Man, anyone notice how its the same people who get rekted every war?

You would think that they would take a hint by now.

And I dont wanna hear about bias, I have friends on both sides of this less than useless war.

It's like winning takes a modicum of effort above logging in weekly for 30 seconds.

  7. You are officially the best mole alliance ever.

Purposefully planted by Syndisphere to seduce any of the disloyal elements of OO or Syndisphere into revealing their true nature. All while capping growth so you take virtually no damage while your entire coalition burns for you.

Simply brilliant. Thank you for doing that.

I hope this PM finds you well.

  8. BK had a treaty pre-war.

Your attempts at clogging the treaty web to escape damage seem to have failed (coalition-wide.)

Perhaps we learn today that it is actually the relationships themselves (gasp) and not the paper they're written on that matter.

We should do away with paper.

  9. I keep reading posts by FA people about making the game more interesting... for me war every two months seems boring already. I ve seen the same rethoric throughout too many alliances to count. This sacrifice and lies in order to make the game more interesting. It s not working guys. The game is not interesting. So let's change something. either a more neutral and transparent body for world affairs, like a League of Nations or UN. Or competitions and world olympics like the one organized by that dwarf.

We ve seen not one war started because of a lie. The world foreign affairs is too shady and being schemed out by a hand of ppl. It s time we make it more transparent. Otherwise we risk of being deceived and start wars because of schemes of one man... no offence Partisan, this time probably wasnt your fault.

And BK... it wasn t something new... I feel like the last war just postponed this change of heart... from my side, one thing I have to say to ya.. second 06. enjoy

    https://youtu.be/uAtLV26wnCE

Iam sure we can all start behaving like adult ppl and not looking to prove something. Happy easter you sexless nerds.

    Dear god this.

I've been saying for years that foreign affairs needs to be more transparent. Alliances need more member input or this, and every nation sim, will continue to bore 99% of its audience.

  10. I wasn't originally gonna bother responding in this topic, but dangit, you convinced me to do it anyways.

So firstly, the motivation you are trying to attribute to BK and BoC simply isn't accurate. Neither of us set out with the specific goal of rolling anyone.

But let me put aside all the propaganda and try to give you some honest insight into our thoughts. Whether you choose to believe me or just decide to ignore me is of course entirely up to you, but this way I can at least say that I tried.

Alright, so all of this hinges on a premise. The premise that The Silent War is the last, somewhat, even war that we have seen in this game until the current one. Again, not asking you to agree or disagree, just saying how I see it. So The Silent War, which was in September if I remember correctly, is the latest war we've had where the outcome wasn't decided in advance. That is approximately 6 months in which the only wars we've had have pretty much been complete beatdowns.

So it has been 6 months since we've had a somewhat even war. Now for anyone just wanting to sit on top of the world and pad their stats, that would be a fine situation, but in case you haven't noticed, that has never really been BK's goal. We like to fight and we like a challenge.

Going back to the end of the Silent War, there didn't really seem to be any challenge left. NPO, the Covenant and all their friends were severely beaten and demoralized. The attempt at creating a new sphere around SK and Valyria were taken down before they ever became a true challenge and the last remaining opposition, the paperless, were crushed in an overwhelming fashion. Now I'm not blaming anyone for any of that, just saying it like it is.

So it was clear that Syndisphere or Syndi-OO-sphere or whatever you want to call it had, in essence, won the game. There was literally no one left to stand against us and even worse there was no one even willing to try.

Thus it was clear that if anything interesting were to happen, it had to involve a split in the then powerstructure. Now we originally wanted the split to be OO breaking away from the rest of Syndisphere, but when TKR made it clear you weren't interested (which is completely fair BTW) we had to do it in some other way and the way we ended up doing it was with the creation of The Inquisition.

Now you can agree or disagree with the way we did it, and I'll be the first to admit that there were some missteps along the way, but you can't really argue that it did what we set out to accomplish. It shock the status quo of the game and gave us a war in which the outcome, at least as far as I can tell, isn't decided from the get go.

If your goal was to just sit on top of the game, having won, then I can see why the current situation is upsetting, but, as mentioned, that has simply never been BK's goal. We don't want the iron throne. We don't want to "win". We just want to wake up to the lovely smell of gunpowder in the morning.

Now you are welcome to try and pick apart my post, hell I more or less expect it and I just realized I could have boiled it all down and just quoted The Dark Knight: "Some men just want to watch the world burn".

Don't really care that you backstabbed syndisphere - it was bound to happen.

Don't really care that you backstabbed TKR - it was bound to happen.

Kinda care that you went the same route that choked (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) to death of signing an entire new sphere of treaties without cancelling your current treaties because you wanted to "tactically engage."

Hopefully people will wake up and realize the horseshit for what it is before it happens again.
