Got a request on discord for the same but excluding cities 1-4 entirely so here is also that:

That brings 20+ to being 15.33% of all active nations greater than 5 cities.

top 15% of the game is 20+ cities.

Ironically maybe like 30% of the game (within those same parameters) is socially active so we probably don't notice how high most of us are. Plus the fact that like 70% the mid/low tier is gag-ordered in IQ right now.

Upper Tier isn’t the same as whale tier. It results from the politics as well as the mechanics.

Since the game is majority low/mid on one side and Mid/upper/whales on the other side, and majority of IQ having 13-15 cities, that makes really anything above 17 “upper tier” maybe 18.

I'd agree with this sentiment. 20+ cities really is whale tier at this point in the game's population.

"Hello my name is Sketchy, me and my EMC friends have been making a quadrillion posts about a certain conflict in the last two days. The IQ, the biggest ig bloc has nearly no posts at all though. Now one BK guy has made a post saying "IQ doesn't really care about this conflict, thats why noone comments on this". Haha! With my grade school psychology I can clearly see through his motives, ALL of BK actually cares about this conflict A LOT.... even if he is literally the first BK guy posting in this entire thread... and it is pretty much the same for every other thread.... but anyways.... haha lets call them stupid that'll show em! Good i thing i posted this in this IQ thread... that has only three IQ guys making comments and by far the most posts are from non IQ guys... Whew all of this makes me feel very smart. Haha these guys, such a complete lack of self awareness haha."

This is why Strum, Zoot, Shifty, and more have left BK.

When it causes more damage than the alternative.

This is not that case, however.

Losing your pixels is not the worst fate, by far. Even if you're only looking through an in-character lens. Pixel protection is becoming paramount as the political personalities of our world lose interest and go inactive, but I promise you it is a road already traveled and it's both boring and ineffective.

Arrgh's continued existence ensures the later, at least. ;)

Orbis, help me out. With all the shenanigans on the forums lately I'm second-guessing myself and my deductive reasoning skills. Can someone please confirm or dispel these falsehoods for me?

    1. Is all of IQ seriously losing to Terminal Jest? A 20-something member alliance is winning against....half the game?

    2. If that does turn out to be true....WHAT?! HOW?!

    3. EMC broke up because of....what now?

    4. What has everyone been so afraid and skittish about if one alliance of 20-25 members can roll an ENTIRE BLOC?

    5. Can we name this "The PLZ GIT GUD War"?

What am I missing? Please help.

It all boils down to a cultural victory. A lot of alliances have spent so long complaining that the odds are overly-stacked against them that, despite fact, they have talked themselves into losing.

The fact that the majority of the game (IQ) has no forum presence should tell you everything you need to know. The silence is deafening.

  6. I'm sure I remarked something similar the last time you posted these, but again I find a couple of trends to be interesting.

    1. 69% (ayy lmao) of nations in this game are 5 or less cities. ie - people who are either under 10 days of age or people who are inactive/don't play.

         - How can we increase our retention rate from a community standpoint?

         - How can we increase retention via mechanics?

         - Can we bring any of these people back into the game?

         - How can we boost influx of new players?

    2. The New Pacific Order, unarguably, is a brick wall to anyone in their score range. Cities can't be destroyed so they're only going to continue rising up. The bell curve of city cost is going to make it impossible to escape their coordinated takeover of an ever-higher score range.

         - Aside from tax rates (which NPO is famous for being at 100%), why aren't other groups following NPO's lead in regards to sacrificing short-term growth for long-term victory?

         - Does NPO's taxrate directly contribute to their coordinated efforts? Could other groups create such a concerted effort without the harsh taxes?

         - Have NPO's doctrines truly created the invincible phalanx that they appear to be at first glance?

  7. I would term the irrelevant as inactive people who either won't or don't know how to get involved with things.

Otherwise your relevance can be chalked up to your actions as long as you have somewhat of an alliance backing you. The problem is, every single alliance in the game right now has no inkling of democratic process or member involvement. If they do, they're a freebooting pirate anarchy. So we have the vast majority of people out there disillusioned with a boring game going inactive, then we have the people who consolidated their power in the name of efficiency and opsec complaining because there's the same handful of people making the big calls and shockingly none of them will change their minds on anything.

We need new blood. We need new systems.

roflstomps are usually short.  It's not beneficial to keep going unless you're specifically looking to disband an alliance.  Which, if you're looking to disband an alliance, can usually come off with negative consequences in the future for you.

Yes, god forbid we do anything more than two days of war lest we suffer negative consequences.
