  1.

The name thing is common sense, and Im not even sure what problem you have with the Nazi issue that was already dealt with.

I believe what Hereno is showing is his bad attitude towards Nordreich, considering it's artwork to be Nazi and spreading his love to hate our alliance wherever it goes - as I'm sure you can see the Odal rune in his signature, as he attempts to state we are a fascistic organization.

Yeah. I already gave him my opinion of his signature.

*Not sure if Hereno is aware that NoR is styled after the.2nd Reich.*

See NoRs flag? Take out the Odal rune and its an actual flag from history. Anyone knows where it comes from?

    *Hint: Not Nazi Germany.

Also, maybe take a look at their wiki. Its clearly not themed after any Nazi organization I can think of.

Also, haven't heard any fascist hate coming from NoR... Lot of hate from Hereno though...

    A few observations...

  2. Can we have one of these poll things for the nazis and the name changes, or is this post of mine going to get deleted, too?

You're just being argumentative for the sake of arguing.

You're welcome for.the name changes and the Nazi situation was addressed and dealt with. Shut up.

But in a more respectful tone, seriously Hereno. I actually have respect for you, bit some of the shit you say makes me want to punch the screen.

Do you sincerely have an issue with those things?

The name thing is common sense, and Im not even sure what problem you have with the Nazi issue that was already dealt with.

  3. For clarification on EMPs:

Non-nuclear electromagnetic pulse (NNEMP) is a weapon-generated electromagnetic pulse without use of nuclear technology. Devices that can achieve this objective include a large low-inductance capacitor

bank discharged into a single-loop antenna, a microwave generator and an explosively pumped flux compression generator

. To achieve the frequency characteristics of the pulse needed for optimal coupling

     into the target, wave

-shaping circuits and/or microwave generators are added between the pulse source and the antenna

    . Vircators

are vacuum tubes that are particularly suitable for microwave conversion of high-energy pulses.[3]

NNEMP generators can be carried as a payload of bombs, cruise missiles

     (such as the CHAMP

     missile) and drones

, with diminished mechanical, thermal and ionizing radiation effects, but without the political consequences of deploying nuclear weapons.

The range of NNEMP weapons (non-nuclear electromagnetic pulse bombs) is much less than nuclear EMP. Nearly all NNEMP devices used as weapons require chemical explosives as their initial energy source, producing only 10−6 (one millionth) the energy of nuclear explosives of similar weight.[4]

The electromagnetic pulse from NNEMP weapons must come from within the weapon, while nuclear weapons generate EMP as a secondary effect.[5]

These facts limit the range of NNEMP weapons, but allow finer target discrimination.

  4. Nuclear EMPs (NEMP) are one type of EMP.

    There's other kinds.

There's such thing as a super virus.

My idea for the EMP is shit down the power in a given city. Maybe disable ships/tanks/planes.

Its a good idea as long as costs don't outweigh benefits.

  5. Hao,

    Chemical Weapons:

Well hey, this isn't RL. Its game. I just thought it would make a unique addition.

    EMP:

I could be wrong, but I think I remember reading in the GBoWR, about an EMP device capable of wiping out electronics over an area nearly the size of NYC.

    Vacuum Bomb:

Its already been done. Russians did that a while ago.

I really only care about.the first two myself. I think if we came to a good cost/usefulness ratio, they would be a great addition.

Tom, I figured as far as bombs go, a nuke was powerful enough.

Paul, I thought about that, actually, but I was trying to find unique uses for each weapon.

  6. After considering concerns from the community, I have revised this suggestion. The part in Red, is now the only part of this suggestion I personally think should be implemented. The others are still open for discussion, of course. However, I feel the part in Red, and only that part, would be a logical addition to the game. Hopefully I typed the BBC code right.

So a recent question asked inspired this post.

    http://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/389-wmds/#entry3674

Also, it may be a bit early for this, but what the Hell.

So nukes will obviously be a given. But why not add some more WMDs?

    Here's a few I have in mind:

    Chemical Weapons:

Im thinking this could be a weapon, that when used, has a slow, not too damaging, but lasting effect. What that effect is, Im really not sure. Maybe we could have it kill off a certain percentage of soldiers every day for x amount of days and reduce commerce.

If this is added, I feel like it needs to have fewer prerequisites than nukes, however, I feel like it needs to somehow be self damaging in a way. Making it not necessarily something you want to use in any given situation.

    Electro Magnetic Pulse:

This could be used to knock out power to a particular city. How its done or how long it may last isnt something I feel I should answer here. Reason being, I think it needs discussed. But this one in particular, Id love to see added. Since we have power as a factor.

Personally, I think its prerequisites should be high (Higher than nukes? IDK). Its cost however, should probably be cheaper, due to its non lethality.

EDIT: Here is how I think the mechanics should work:

*A nation can only be attacked with an EMP once per week. (7 days)

*A successful EMP attack will cause the targeted city to lose power for 3-5 days.

*A city without power has no access to or use of powered improvements.

    An example:

Nation A+B declare war on nation C.

Nation A attacks nation C with an EMP.

    The attack is successful.

The targeted city of nation C loses power for 3-5 days.

Nation B, now cannot attack nation C with an EMP for 7 days.

    Biological Weapons:

This one Im not so keen on. Mostly because I have no idea how it would differ from Chemical Weapons in any logical way to make it worth implimenting both. Also, Id prefer chemical to bio.

But hey, its worth mentioning. Any ideas?

Now if we really want to go WMD crazy:

    Vacuum Bomb:

Not really a WMD. But upscaled to massive sizes, these things pack a punch the size of a nuclear blast. Also, they don't produce nuclear fallout and radiation.

Now in order for this to even be added reasonably, we would have to assume already that nuclear weapons produce some kind of global damage. Like increasing everyone's pollution index. (Something I can make a suggestion of if need be).

I feel the prerequisites should be higher than nukes, as well as the cost. Damage should be just barely under. Advantage being, no global pollution.

    Strategic Defense Initiative:

I feel like this one is a given. Not exactly a weapon, but a good defense against them.

Prerequisites should be high, as should price.

    Super Virus:

I was going to leave this one out, because I don't really like it but...

Maybe use this super computer virus as a way to severely disrupt a nations commerce for a period of time?

    Lower prerequisites, higher costs.

    Nano Technology:

Lets face it, in RL, nano technology is the future of many things. It could potentially be used for spying with great success and ease. It is also currently used in manufacturing and could, in the future be used to manufacture weapons. IE: Building nuclear weapons that are more effective and destructive. Or UAVs that are too small to detect. It can also be used to mass produce weapons at lower costs.

Not sure how it would be implemented.

Prerequisites should be extremely high. Cost should be high.

    Weather Control:

OK, this one is extremely far fetched and out there, but not if you're one of those conspiracy theorists who think te US government is trying to figure out the key to this with things like HAARP and particular space missions.

I think its pretty self explanatory. Use it as a very destructive WMD. Like a nuke, only worse.

Prerequisite should be extremely high. Cost should be extremely high.

In closing, Id like to add that I really don't expect all these to be added. It probably wouldn't make much sense if they were and some of them are assuming things about the war system I have no idea about.

They're just ideas for the most part, however, I think the addition of the first 2 would be pretty cool.

  7. WTF are you talking about?

So now your the one who defines what Taoism is? Do you even realize the vast majority of Taoists are atheist? And that very few practice the religious Tao?

You've successfully managed to type a pile of bullshit. Bit this it wjats you do when communicating with me. You throw words in my mouth and then attempt to tell me Im not who I am.

Who the !@#$ do you think you are? You don't know the.first thing about me, and me You certainly don't know a Damn thing about.my religion.

What are you going to try to convince me of next? That I only have 4 fingers? That I like to eat candy? Or perhaps you will try to convince me that Im a Republican conservative from Texas, named Anson.

I highly suggest that when speaking with me, You read what I say, rather than read it and assume Im also saying something Im not.

  8. I loved the PT world bank when it started, though I was not around later, so I have no idea whether it became worse. I just know back then it would have such low interest rates and would give you a percentage of the GDP only, so you could just take a nice loan, spend it on your economy and in turn the amount of debt became smaller in comparison to the GDP. It's a bit like how RL public debt is often intended to work, methinks.

I didn't even bother with the world bank until just before it went down. I never had an issue with it, although all I ever really did was shove money into it and forget about it. :P

Personally, I think we should just go with something simple and not overly complicated and realistic. But Thats just my opinion.

Id say alliance banks. No world bank.

Jerrys idea sounds pretty cool but a bit complex.

    /me re-reads.

Jerry, Im on board with this, kinda. I prefer version 2, though.

Other than this, Id be happy with just simple alliance banks, really.

  9. I think you're under the impression that I support fascism. As you should know, Im a libertarian socialist at heart (despite my belief that such socialism doesn't work). And a Taoist. Hence, its quite obvious that my beliefs are polar opposite of Fascists.

But as a Taoist, I believe all is one. Thus I am no greater than you, or even the ground I walk on. Nor are you. We are all part of Tao.

But I shouldn't of even had to explain that to someone so educated on Tao.

  10. Like I care if its "standard." Both are wrong and either is perfectly acceptable.

My favorite Chinese translator and expert on traditional Chinese medicine, Ralph Alan Dale, spells it Tao. Further more, his translation of the Tao Te Ching into English is by far the best translation I've ever read. To add to this, nearly any memorable literature I've read on the subject is spelled Tao. Thus I prefer the traditional Tao.

    http://taointegrity.blogspot.com/?m=1

As for my acceptance of fascists as being no less or greater than you and I, I suggest you visit my link because you clearly know nothing of the teachings of the Tao you speak of.

  11. " ridiculous" for not supporting fascists."

I never said anything close to that. Ill admit. You're a good troll, and pretty effective at making me respond just when I think Im done.

As for Tao/Dao, oh please do... Educate me about my own beliefs. Just try.

For one, both Tao and Dao are wrong. The difference in spelling is not an issue of spelling. There is no correct way to spell Tao in our alphabet. The difference in spelling is purely an issue of pronunciation.

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daoism%E2%80%93Taoism_romanization_issue

Tao and Dao are both correct or incorrect. However you veiw it.

Bit kudos to you. I always get a good laugh when people try to convince me Dao is somehow more appropriate. ;)

  12. I didn't think you were still a mod, Fox Fire. Can non-mods make up rule changes whenever they feel like it?

You either are a mod, or you aren't.

    What are you talking about?

I mean, you may not care either way, but in reality, the fact you're anti-fa tells me you're an overall negative person in general.

Yeah, being opposed to fascism and racism, that's really negative. The fact that you would say something like that tells me you're reactionary as hell.

Im also opposed to racism and hate. Does this mean Im anti-fa? No. When I was a dumb anarchist teenager I used to wear anti-fa propaganda and do a lot of Nazi hating myself. Then I grew up and realized the world isn't black and white.

Being anti anything is retarded. Countering hate with hate breeds more hate, and in the end you've accomplished nothing other than blatant hypocrisy.

Sure, Im opposed to many things, but I don't go around hating on hate. If somebody wants to be a Nazi, I can disagree with their beliefs all I want. But to pre-judge their person based on said beliefs is hypocritical at best and simply destructive at worst.

I think its obvious Im a Taoist. Maybe if you understood these beliefs, you wouldn't be saying such ridiculous things to me.

  13.

In addition to that, what happens if a coup is taking place?

Say, if I coup Sith, and if Sith retains control of the IG AA and I gain control of the forums; who would breach that rule by posting an annoucement?

(Personally, I believe neither should, though it seems under that rule one would be)

So what if they just left the spam rule in, took this rule out, and considered impersonation spam to be a waste of time, to clear everything up? Either way I feel like we're splitting hairs about a non-issue, though.

OK. Its a non issue until it becomes one.... Because I already explained why it can potentially be an issue, yet doesn't solve any issues. I feel like your purpose for arguing is just because you're Hereno and make it a hobby to disagree with me, even when Im arguing your own beliefs. I mean I've offered 2 very reasonable solutions to a potential problems...

But I've made my suggestion. Night.

  14. Why do you care so much about something so irrelevant.

I was thinking the exact same thing about your signature.

Its not irrelevant. Its a sincere concern. I mean, you may not care either way, but in reality, the fact you're anti-fa tells me you're an overall negative person in general.

So my question is, why comment on something without an opinion or any form of contribution?

    Just to be negative?

Sure, this isn't a priority issue, but its alto more relevant than your comment.

PS: NoR isn't a Nazi themed alliance or fascist of any sort. Your signature makes no sense at all. It makes about as much sense as hating Muslims because of Al Queda.

  15. Alright. I didn't want to post this, but I have another solution.

Id honestly prefer the rule just be removed, but here's a compromise I've had in mind:

    Change the rule to this:

    3) Posting alliance announcements for an alliance you are not affiliated with is prohibited.

Now like I said, Id prefer it just be removed. If such an announcement does happen, I still don't imagine going anywhere except for the victimized alliance attacking the poster or something. I mean just think about. Would you risk a war by posting a fake TSE announcement? And even if you did, who would believe you? Further more, even if somebody fell for it, I imagine the mentioned alliance would clear things up without a drop of blood shed.

I think what people aren't understanding is exactly how broad of a variety of posts this rule prohibits, and that not falling for an impersonating is even more simple than just common sense.

In the end I just think the rule is completely unnecessary and doesn't serve the community in any fair way.

  16. There's already a rule against posting spam.

If I want to be sarcastic or mess with somebody, why can't I post a comment in a thread saying "Yeah, Im the leader of SK, I declare war on you."

Anyone who believes that, or believes it is going to damage the community is completely oblivious.

This suggestion is beneficial because it allows freedom, responsibility and provides the community reign over its own politics, as it should be. Moderators can't be involved in alliance politics, no?

Im not saying they should allow BS spam and troll threads but this rule actually restricts a pretty broad amount of potential and absolutely harmless, if anything interesting, posts.
