    We in Sparta have nothing against GOB but the fact that we were close. For us it was an up hill battle but knowing SRD they would be more then prepared. We enjoy the fact that GOB are willing to fight us one on one. They have said they would not be cowards and ask for help. We have told them that we would enjoy a fair fight and that is what we are doing.

    I wasn't exactly unprepared. I was one day from max military. I was working during your initial update blitz, and was finally able to login about 3 hours post update. Due to a well executed blitz, by that time, you guys had taken 1,728 aircraft off of me. I was already hosed. You can argue that I should've had full military and quit my job, but no alliance is going to mandate that their members have 100% military, 100% of the time - let alone be active 100% of the time.

    I do take care of myself. I pay for all my Gladian needs including, but not limited to: Cities, Infra, Resources, Warchest, Hookers, Blow, etc... 

    But you can spin that statement however you like. The fact is, we (Grumpy) are in an alliance for the purposes of mutual defense. While each individual nation is expected to defend themselves, that's not where it stops as your interpretation would suggest. We are expected to defend each other. We are also not neutral, and devoted to defending our allies. That goes both ways. Truthfully, we share just about the same purpose as any other alliance out there.

    How is GOB anywhere on any of these lists??

     

    Oh, and I went to the #1 AA for IA, clicked on their leader to see if I could learn a thing or two. I learned I have too many cities, too much infra, too many projects, produce waaay too many resources and my commerce is excessive. I am ashamed to admit that while I pay 0 in taxes, I have access to sizable, interest-free loans. Sucks to be me. :(

    I really like VE's attitude of "well, we've already been hammered into the ground - no harm in making the hammer heavier" and just declaring on everybody.

     

    Well, to be fair, it worked for TEst. Except it didn't, but! I did see some members like Tywin still profiting by being able to more freely pick raid targets. But, I don't see any of VE creeping up the top 10 money looted scoreboards. Â¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    The flag is red to mock Rose. During the VE coup Sketchy essentially was leading VE because Olorin is incompetent and can't think for himself.

    If you have to explain it, however many weeks later, I think y'all missed your mark. You can mock Rose all you want, and call Olorin incompetent, but he still sitting virtually untouched this war. His incompetency or yours?

    Because it's !@#$ stupid. 

     

    What I think is !@#$ing stupid is that so many people can't seem to get through their head what a NDF is, or don't care what it is and post anyway. If anything, the warns for this needs to be enforced better, as well as harsher punishments.

     

    While I'm all for comedic posts that make us all laugh, it's not appropriate in a NDF, and just wastes mod's time.

     

    As another suggestion, perhaps make the game/forums section of the forums where only mods and the person who made the report can view the thread. It's easier than having to police and issue so many warns for people posting in a NDF and will protect people who made a report from being targeted in-game.

    However, I'm suspicious over "not having a smart phone" (I mean, it's super rare in the case that someone has a flip phone or no phone at all at this time, but still possible)

    I probably shouldn't admit to this, but I have a flip phone. My friends/family make fun of me for it, but it's my choice not to have a smartphone. It's not that I've never had a smartphone before, I have. I just seriously hate having a phone. I hate talking on the phone. I hate checking my voicemails for messages that only say "Hey, call me back." (Duh, I'm supposed to call you back. I see the missed call on my phone and you neglected to leave a message telling me why you actually called. >_<), I hate the weird cult chainmail updating me on my leader's new phone number (Seriously got that text this week O_o), I hate having to awkwardly face my friends and family when they say "I called you. Why didn't you call me back?". The only reason I have a phone is because my grandmother would seriously flip shit if she couldn't get ahold of me. Yes, I understand that it's just crazy not to have some sort of phone in case of emergency situations. Any phone even if it doesn't have phone service can be used for emergency calls. Don't get me wrong. I hate emails too. Also, you can bet that I'll be the first to stop replying to that PM conversation. And I hate facebook. So do me a solid, and if anyone ever wants to get ahold of me, light something on fire and send up a smoke signal.

    I've mostly stayed away from posting in this thread for a couple of reasons. The first, it's a trolling/joke thread and now that someone (Partisan) has made an actual argument, here I am being serious and shit. My second reason is that I rather like LPS. We're FB friends, and I've known him from other gaming communities for several years. He took the time to personally wish me a happy birthday, sent along with a gift. I pray he does well and wish him no ill will IRL. And lastly, I agree that the reasons to hit him can be purely motivated by gameplay strategy. I preached the same thing to the GPA when I was their MoD. Despite the fact that you have decidedly attempted to avoid conflict, and basically gave your word that all your wars would be defensive in nature, there comes a tipping point where others have to weigh the potential threat to their alliance. The community could've let the GPA slide, and I'm confident that they never would've declared an offensive war unless they were somehow attacked first. But where would their growth be today? They would have been a juggernaut, and so stunting that growth before it reaches that point is certainly valid. Difference between LPS and the GPA is that LPS isn't in a neutral alliance (Also, he's not an alliance. :v), which makes that potential threat even more real. But just as I firmly believe the GPA didn't pose any threat to me, I believe LPS doesn't pose a threat to me. And not because he's my friend, but because he's one nation. Now, if you want to talk about the handful of top tier nations that CS shuffled off to VM, then that is a real threat.

     

    But several OOC attacks have been made against LPS in this thread, and imo have no place here. If you feel like you need to declare on him once he's out of vm to alleviate any threat you feel he poses to you, then go for it. But bringing into question his abilities in his profession IRL is uncalled for.
