Why? I thought you guys were ranting about how it was honorable and reasonable to negotiate separate peaces during a losing war with what otherwise would have been a tight-knit coalition. Link me to 3 different posts on these forums indicating during the war that the SK-Guardian-Mensa coalition would have split either as a result of how the war was handled or as a result of the war itself.
===
The question right now is this; why did the split actually occur? Are Guardian and SK fragmenting in hopes that an untreatied position will provide them better positioning for reintegration into the Orbis world system, as the death of the bloc reduces their power potential and targetability? Or did they really have an acrimonious fight on their diplo boards over issues like Tenages getting leaked in a most grotesque fashion, Shellhound getting reset over an incredibly inept multi-scheme, Guardian seeking an independent peace and leaving SK out to dry, and SK demanding that Guardian commit alliance suicide as per terms of its treaty?
The apparent answer is the first. The second answer can be suspected, but not proven without access to their real diplo boards, and if infiltration by certain alliances is real (see the Tenages leak), the people who are interested do know.
===
Lastly, Avruch, you guys are wondering why I'm "!@#$posting" (I deny the claim) with no real account here. I said it was inadvertent, then to annoy my detractors, but now I realize I am merely enjoying my freedom. When I was in an alliance and I was seriously playing games like these, I had to !@#$, to lie, to cover up, to dissemble. I couldn't speak my mind or act as my heart dictated. Now that I am alone, vulnerable to mods only, and ZIed, I am free. I am enjoying what could be said to be a grotesque freedom, the freedom of having neither a nation that can be wrecked nor friends who can be endangered.
I say what I think is true, and if I'm wrong, so I'm wrong. I have the unique position of being able to call people out for !@#$ as much as I want without ever getting rolled. It's priceless.
I know the game for you solely consists of forum posts. Frankly I don't care why, except that it's strange you are so interested and yet not willing to actually play. In your position I think I'd get bored "having neither a nation...nor friends" and move on.
That said, there is more to the game than forum posts, and I'm fairly confident that those of us actually playing the game saw all of this coming miles away. You say "Called it!" like it was some sort of achievement of a beautiful mind, but the outcome was predictable with zero special insight.
Which works as an indictment of many of your other posts - they are written as if you believe you are offering us a special glimpse of rare intellect, but it generally breaks down as some parts nonsense, some parts comical misunderstanding, some parts proving ignorance of specific details, and the rest is prattling on at length about topics everyone else already knows more about than you. All with a side of patting yourself on the back.

Called it. Of course, this is all PR business, and it's curious to wonder what was going on in the backrooms and what happened in the backchannels.
You and literally every other conscious person aware of the last war, yes. Good job, Nostradamus.

That is a terrible analogy... That exact reason is why companies have non compete clauses that you sign as part of your contract so other companies specifically cant do that. When they do try, the company can sue the crap out of the employee, and prevent them from joining the new company, or get compensation if they do.
The purpose of non-compete clauses is to prevent employees from using trade secrets / inside knowledge of the company / stolen tech or information etc. to give a competitor an advantage. That doesn't really seem to be an issue here. And as Tenages mentioned, "restraint of trade" contracts are widely restricted and in many cases banned simply because its generally recognized that they are mostly unfair. In common law and applying it to this context, it would probably only be enforceable against government members or an alliance leader and then only if they agreed to it in advance.

How would NPCs address the issues of boredom and player retention?

He could call himself whatever he wants, I doubt being "president" would allow the usage of any actual power/influence.
I imagine power/influence was used with the (probably explicit) threat of war as a penalty for refusal.

I'm not understanding. Why would whatever Grealind said be an issue and cause you to disband an alliance you seemed to see bringing back as a very important issue. Dropping it so quickly just makes it look like you didn't actually care all that much outside doing the obvious.
Grealind described himself as still being "president of Celestial Union" and obviously meant to run CU through Ansom as a mouthpiece. It's unsurprising, given Grealind's personality, that this didn't work out for long.

I don't see why Henry or anyone else is responsible if your members prefer some other alliance. Why Henry should pay you reps for accepting one of your members is a mystery to me.
As to taking on the "debt" "owed" to you by someone you gave money, it seems like he had no obligation to do that at all. Agreeing to pay you anything was probably his biggest mistake.
Is Cobalt's new policy that if they decide a member has debt, and that member leaves to another alliance, Cobalt will always threaten to go to war with that alliance unless it pays off the "debt" of their new member? Or was this whole thing a shortcut to a war that Cobalt wanted anyway, and a valid CB was thought necessary to justify a downhit?

Are you kidding me. When Mensa raided SI, they wanted the person raided to ask for reps so SI leader wouldn't profit. Now you guys want this guy to pay the alliance reps when the person he raided quit the game? Seriously?
The SI reps / decision etc. had nothing to do with me. And I didn't demand that Irons pay reps, just suggested that if he wanted to make and end to any issues with Mensa he might consider approaching one of our leaders to clear up his recent attack.
-
It's no threat, it's not like its me or any other Mensa member attacking you or pasting big insults about you in our profiles. When you see a "TIRE IRON OF ATLAS IS MENSA PUBLIC ENEMY #1" thread, then you can complain.
-
He was inactive when i attacked, and he is still inactive from 5/21/15.
He hasnt been on since before my attacks.
If you say so. Don't give us any silly stories about your "moral code." You might want to hover around your current score; think of score growth as a sort of Rubicon for you - once you cross it, you become vulnerable to payback for your own moral failings.
-
Impossible! I havnt attacked Mesna within the passed week
Oh.
That guy
But the Citadel is no longer a member of MensaHQ
He is inactive, Beige, and alliance-less.
And? You still attacked him when he was Mensa and we were in the midst of a war. Maybe your attack was the last straw that led him to quit pnw.
-
This was a few months ago! Why are you just now aproaching me with this, then?
It wasn't even two weeks ago.
https://politicsandwar.com/nation/war/timeline/war=47907
And anyway, you are the one looking to be quits with MensaHQ. But as others have said, we have long memories.
-
3. I want no further trouble with Mensa. I just refuse to do buisness with them. This was established not 1 post earlier.
This part isn't totally up to you, I'm sorry to say, and claiming that you were "hired" by someone else is really irrelevant. You were still the attacker and any profits from the attack still went to you as far as I can determine. If you want to make up for it, feel free to approach Vanek26 about paying reps.
-
Oh don't be a spoilsport, dear. This is my first ever alliance war
Join the club, babe. Like I said, if you jump in at the end to kick someone when they are down, you don't get to crow about your amazing combat prowess - first war or not.
-
You have a pretty loud mouth about "injustice" for a guy running an alliance called the Crime Syndicate. Not to mention, anyone looking will see that it was Mr. ATLAS raiding Mensa inactives, not the other way around (despite his bs excuse of having been "hired" to attack a low-tier mostly inactive Mensa nation in the middle of a world war). So, tire iron, if you ever get past the crap tier of nations we'll be sure to welcome you into our range.
-
Damnit, couldn't you guys wait another day? I wanted to pay back Pax for that missile
Oh well, it's been fun. I lost almost 800 infra, but I dealt over 5k infra in total (can't be bothered with checking the exact numbers), including the war with Mensa and Guardian. I wonder how many Guardians I hit, been hitting everyone since the start of the war).
Good luck rebuilding for everyone.
EDIT: Please don't say this isn't over. I will be extremely pissed if I have to decomission and recommission my armed forces the second time.
A injury to damage ratio like that isn't too hard when you jump in against opponents who are already beaten. Nothing to brag about, really.

So in retrospect SK's decision not to pay the first non-negotiable offer of reps wasn't as silly as it seemed.

I feel like this opportunity to learn from Inst is too important to let this thread permanently die. Please, ask Inst more questions so that we may all benefit from the light that shines beneath him when he speaks from his nether exit.

Yeah, you don't gain anything from airstrikes or ships. If you're only raiding, then you should only be sending soldiers?
Unless they are specifically trying to destroy this guy, then it makes some sense.
-
IOW, you weren't roleplaying as your alliance when you posted. You need to roleplay, and if you aren't roleplaying, you aren't following the rules. In sum, learn2roleplay.

This guy is hilarious. Commando Seamus McBigSwingingDick during the war, except he failed to win a single engagement. Now he's flaming out but still talking like he's got the long stick... Just ragequit and be done, buddy.

Are you asking for Sheepy to improve the Internet? Just clarifying, don't warn me mods!

So two things can be said of this:
A.) The war isn't as handily tied up as VE-sphere like to say.
or
B.) Cornerstone are a bunch of !@#$ who like to dogpile.
Neither is a good thing to be said.
I doubt Cornerstone is joining at this point in order to farm. This is political positioning; by staying in the war along with their allies, they strengthen (or at least maintain) their diplomatic ties within the VE sphere.

That's as good as 5 seconds before large-scale war
Worked pretty well for me overall.
