I don't think you get that pirate king isn't in NPO. He even said as much. I don't know him. If you guys want to jump on it and attribute his posts to us rather than seeing it for what it is: someone who isn't involved much in the game commenting, that's too bad. I mean, you know all he isn't in NPO,so it's just typical posturing from you and grasping at any straw you can.
He's been one of your applicants for about 2 weeks:

I think we're at that point now, haha.
I don't know why but "little shit" is just a funny insult.
Next, IQ is going to reform itself into the Joint Chiefs of Staff with Roquentin as CJCS. And they will create their own forum as a 'safe space' for their community.

I think you may be a tad overconfident here. Syndisphere didn't not make more attacks on NPO because you thought you'd just give us a pass.. it's because you didn't have enough nations in our range to do so. Now that IQ, I assume, is mostly in the low-tier with NPO I can only imagine there will be a lot of IQ nations just chillin that could make money to keep funding our war effort.
Also, if the war continues with us having a strong low-tier advantage.. in the long run (assuming IQ can fund it) new nations may feel more incline to join places where they won't get immediatelly dogpiled for joining. If our nation count grows and Syndi's does not, we'll have even more nations chilling peacefully making money, more funds to continue the war.
I'm not sure what will happen but I definitely see a path to victory for IQ. Although the odds of us having the commitment and skill to walk that path to completion is debatable, the chance is still there and the odds are probably better for us than our enemies claim. Enemies aren't exactly unbiased sources. Though in the end you could be right, I don't think anyone can know with absolute certainty just yet. You're just propagating to try and keep your side's moral high.
> a lot of (ultra low tier) nations that could make money to fund war effort
Uh, ok.
> new nations inclined to join us
New nations??
> path to victory
this sounds like the 'southern strategy' of a New England democrat running for president.

lol...youre not really paying attention to the frontlines of the war...what intentional dropping? tS is manhandled by NPO literally. tS is my favorite targets because their members have a lot of resources to raid and right now it's so difficult to find war slot on them...it's like a couple of nations are only free from the wrath NPO has unleashed in the last week. On my last count there's only maybe 10 or so whose not yet hit by NPO really bad. and it's also the same with TKR ...just check every individual nation they have, their defensive wars, the declaring nations, the timelines, the drop in average score.
wtf are you on? You've only fought 1 tS nation, to begin with. More importantly, you sound like you are describing some alternate universe version of this war.

Good thing then I was able to buy 2 cities in a 100/100 tax alliance mid war.
lol cities NINE and TEN! Congrats man, fire up them big guns.

First, you tried to entrap us and actively plot against us and our allies. Second there was no false pretense, or this war wouldn't have happened.
Go home you're drunk.

Lol what the !@#$ is this shit?
Kastor's attempt at grand strategery. In addition to his attempts to backchannel alliances on our side out of the war by slinging massive amounts of bullshit, I would say his masterful campaign has had A++ execution and maximum success.

The overall damage done will end in syndisphere favour. Perhaps it would have been more accurate to say that its unlikely there will be another significant knock out blow to force either side to the table, with Inq unable to touch the 18+ range, but holding its own in the mid and netting positive damage. At this point I'd say neither side can induce the other to surrender, though only time will tell if that calculus changes or if both eventually choose to end in white peace.
That's a limited view of the effect of this kind of war. Our alliances are able to grow with positive net income; we're building cities in our nations, expanding our reserves, etc. I imagine that isn't quite how things are going at IQ; they have to cap their growth to continue their strategy, even if they had the money to grow. Minimal new cities, mostly negative income, exhausting war supplies, etc. This state of the war will continue until it ends, and the longer it goes on the greater our advantage.

The overall totals don't tell a great picture, but looking at the daily values there is a steady decline in the net damage taken on Inq side from the 18th, culminating in positive net damage on the 26th. A offensive reversed that briefly on the 28th but overall since then the damages have been positive and trending upwards. Part of that are the increasing Inq updeclares, though part as well is the fact Inq side has already lost most high value infra, so there is only so much damage remaining to be done.
I wouldn't say it heralds a clear victory on either end so much as increasingly a quagmire.
I think there's still a pretty clear victory, but there's a point of diminishing returns. At some point it isn't worth grinding infra lower, and you can't kill military score below zero. The loser's strat of submarine warfare works to an extent, but it doesn't fundamentally change the state of defeat.

As you can see below, the war continues to grind both sides into dust. Side A started with 1.49m score, while side B started with 1.74m. The two sides have collectively lost 1.24m in score, with side B (IQ and friends) having lost the lions share at 840k. The greatest overall losers are Black Knights (-158k) and Zodiac (-119k). NPO continues to have suffered the smallest proportional lost on the B side at 27.5%, while Cornerstone, Acadia, VE and SK have the largest proportional losses on either side (from 61% to 55.8%).
This is not to minimize the significant losses experienced by the defense; tS has suffered the greatest, at 43%, followed by Mensa at 36% and Rose at 33%. But even the loss suffered by the Syndicate would put it 4th to last on the IQ team, ahead of only Cerberus, tTO and of course NPO. It may also be telling that tS' score loss as occurred mostly in the last week, perhaps suggesting that it is the result of intentional range dropping as opposed to damage inflicted by the other side.

Good luck, you'll need a lot of it

I'm not saying you're completely wrong, Thalmor, but a lot of people are utterly unable to master even PNW's very simple war system. Individual skill is important mostly because so many people lack it.

Tywin got good in Mensa, just saying, so Arrgh can't completely claim him :-P

Although you and Micchan do have a point, I'm gonna give you my example: I have a full time job, a family and my P&W nation just turned 1 year old. Yet I'm on the top 10 leaderboards for soldier kills, aircraft, tanks and ships destroyed. I'd be on the infra destroyed one as well, but I personally don't rate infra destroyed, as pretty much anyone can rack up destroyed infra by systematically attacking weak targets. So I'm not big on wasting gas and ammo pummeling weak opponents.
Why am I on those top 10 leaderboards? Because instead of hugging pixels I try to fight as often as possible and I know my way around the battlefield. There's a lot of hard work and strategy behind good stats - whoever thinks otherwise doesn't understand game mechanics and is welcome to try and see for themselves if they can get good stats.
Surely you can be a terrific fighter in an alliance that keeps getting rolled, I know a bunch of them and I could name at least 10. But I speak for myself - I'm pretty sure the majority of my military units destroyed are from peace time. So being in a bad alliance ain't an excuse for not having good stats. Sure it helps, I'm not an idiot...You won't have as good a proportion of K/D military units as you would in a better alliance, but it's certainly possible to have decent stats in an alliance that gets rolled fairly often.
Yep, all this exactly.

Out of curiosity driven by some recent conversation and Khorne's thread, I decided to try to work out what the right rank ordering of Orbis' top fighters should be. The leaderboards will rank people by total kills of different types, but I think total kills doesn't give you a complete picture. Some time ago Ogaden came up with a weighted ranking system that I think is more sophisticated than what I have here, but I've ranked everyone who appears in the top 10 of any kill board by their kill/death ratios (a measure of efficiency). FYI while infra damage and loss shows up in the sheet, I don't use it as a KD ratio for ranking purposes.
See here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CLq_ikPJNSG-fvmZFjLGsuuYv2YBfpHUOPjQAEYOTPg/edit?usp=sharing
There are several ways to order the results, but by average KD ratio (and excluding an anomaly result for Insert Name Here):
By average kill rank across all kill types:
Feel free to reorder the results or make a copy of the sheet and come up with different rankings of your own. If anyone experiments with weighting to come up with a composite score, please post it here so we can ogle it!

I'm a fan of your bs you snek.
If Vanguard wasn't a major hitter THEN WHY WERE WE HIT FIRST. We were a threat, plan and simple and they had to take us out first or Mensa would have fallen.
Trust me on this I am no snek.
Haha. A few random nations in Mensa rolled Vanguard by accident. Threat? Lol

There wasn't a value judgement in what I said.
Appreciate you pointing that out, as I would not have realized that purely from the absence of a value judgment in your comment. (Just kidding, I can read).

Context is really important here but I don't disagree with the general sentiment that air raids kill so many tanks and ground battles destroy so few tanks that the current system incentivizes air over ground, particularly with the finite resistance pool mechanic.
That's true, but its also (1) realistic and (2) not clear how that is a bad thing necessarily.
-
Missing context: how many tanks did you have in the first hit, how many did you use and how many did your opponent have in the second hit. Also, how many planes did he hit you with in the first hit.
-
I don't make any claims to lack of bias. The data is reliable and can be checked by anyone, since its all just drawn from in-game pages available to anyone. My limited commentary is obviously biased, since I'm a participant in the war.

I don't know what the gotcha is - that NPO has a shitposter? Whatever. You seemed to claim that it should be obvious to us all that he isn't in NPO, but how are we supposed to know he hasn't been masked or formally applied? You've been happy for weeks to let him fight alongside you, but now its all 'we don't know this guy, never heard of him before, who even is he really!'
