This is why vargen didn't drop the mercenary contract with aargh as soon as we came under upn protection. Many have asked why we keep aargh on when we don't really need them anymore, but keeping them on was a sign of respect for what aargh was doing for us in our time of need. There are still some who feel aargh only was stepping in because we came under upn protection. The senate knows that's not true, hense the respect of keeping them on to this day. Though we are approaching a time, seeing as we are in the position Jacob mentioned, to move on from our contract with aargh soon, without aargh taking any disrespect from the cancelation.As I recall, Arrgh! not only stopped your alliance from getting rolled, we also helped secure you guys in the position you are in. You probably would have been pushed out of existence if it wasnt for our hard work.
Thats why Arrgh!
That being said, Aargh are good people. Hope everything works out for vanguard.

Change (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) for PnW, change the war from every 6-12 months to 3-6 months in Zoots post and you have pretty much described Politics and War.
I think a huge reason wars are so far apart here is because of the web. If the community could work together to get it untangled by maybe forming blocs then cutting all outside ties to those blocs then the politics of going to war would be much less complicated, which would lead to war happening more often, which everyone has already pointed out, leads to the game being more fun.

I just saw the timelines and UPN might lose this one. Who will protect the protectorates once the lower tier defence is wiped out?

it was a very difficult decision to leave our friends at guardian, but we have a vision for an alliance and they only way to truly realize it was by building it up from scratch. We absolutely have no ill will towards guardian and look forward to growing alongside them. There was no internal problems within guardian when we had left. This is the evolution of an idea and not a move against guardian by any means

All the alliances (minus UPN) have a MDP with each other.
well when you go by what it says the only one obligated to come to the defense of the signatories would be UPN, and the protectorates are only expected too. but ole said he would work on the wording.
but at the same time it says that an attack on one of the signatories is to be considered an attack on all, so it kind of contradicts itself.

Well I for one think anything is justified in a raid. If you hurt yourself in a raid of your own doing, then let bygones be bygones.
true, which is why we have banned raiding. we have a lot of players who have never played the game before, and almost everyone wants to see what the war part of the game is like when they first start...but slowly our members started to see that raiding can only lead to destruction in the end.
Nearly impossible to hurt it further.
while that may be true, we do not enjoy throwing anyone under the bus. we are willing to let what happened go and move on. but to sit around and tell blatant lies about what had happened is besmirching our name. and I can't not say something.

They ended up back on blue as a result of the rollback so I would disagree with that.
We did not go back to blue due to rollback. We were planning to move back onto blue but decided against it after everything got resolved.

Agreed. But seeing as that was the first time details had gone public, and they were misleading, I just wanted to make sure vargens side was heard.

Unfortunately, the rollback took all the evidence during the attacks, but screenshots of the negotiations after the fact are already in existence, and can easily back our version of events.

I've left out details thus far, to not further hurt the cobalt name throughout orbis, apart from those who were already aware of what cobalt was doing. However when you try to slander our name then you leave no other option.
