Syndisphere is leagues better at FA than anyone else. The new mechanics buff this strength more than the old system.

Either Sheepy needs to change mechanics back to place less focus on total members to win wars, or y'all need to get gud. Those are the only two possible outcomes you face.

  2. We should discuss this mechanic. Sheepy wanted wars to end faster. All of my opponents have been repeatedly fortifying to extend the war/not get beiged for 5 days. So, in effect, I'm just bombing infrastructure 4/5 days, same as before. Not that I mind, but Sheepy seemed interested in removing this mechanic.

Additionally, it's now impossible to capture treasures. Not sure if that's an intended consequence of the changes, but it seems to remove the purpose of treasures.

  3. I think it's also worth mentioning the effect of mechanical changes on this gameplay. When Sheepy (essentially) removed infrastructure from effecting score -- the ability for smaller spheres to "punch stronger than their weight" was removed. Now the game rewards number of members in a sphere far, far more than it did previously.

  4. "Too easy" is an odd argument to make. Going into my war timeline and calculating AP isn't skillful, it's just annoying.

By that logic, we shouldn't show net production on the revenue page, we should make every player look at their slots, multiple turn production by 12, subtract inputs, and multiply out taxes.

This removes no skill while removing a tedious process.

  5. I think perhaps the "easiest" solution here is to look at city's "natural defense". If I attack someone with 25 cities with one ship or plane that's an immense triumph. I suspect there should be a scaling effect based on the nation's population. If you want something easy:

-Needs 1 ship per city to get an IT   //   I.e. against a 20 city nation, needs at least 20 ships for an IT

-Needs at least 10 planes per city to get an IT   ///   I.e. against a 20 city nation, needs at least 200 airplanes for an IT

This preserves the balance of needing ships without the silly "cheese" strategies.

yeah its definitely not good. i came a ball hair away from winning a few of my wars when i had no business doing so because of the 1-2 chip shots with ships. i also had my 250+ ship army with blockades on all 5 of my opponents destroyed because of this 'rerouting' behavior. im not saying it is a good war mechanic - i'm just saying it isn't realistic. since this report is based on things not being realistic i was merely presenting the counterpoint the other way

Yeah, I noticed you got me dangerously close to beige :3

Trying to race your ships down with my airplanes was a hairy situation.

  6. TUGT had no part in working with Rose, lol.  He hated Rose.

Your last sentence is absolutely correct though.  We signed Rose because of good talks and friendly times, as well as communities blending somewhat together in other games over time (Like Rust, as you stated).

Oh really? I didn't know this, tbh. My apologies for taking away some of your thunder :3 -- I thought TUGT was trying to butter them up following the Rust stuff.

  7. Just build a few drydocks per city to avoid this problem. There's bigger problems with the war module than this issue, imo.

if we are talking about being rational or realistic one could argue it isn't realistic for someone to be blockaded with several hundred ships and expect to get their airplanes across that front unimpeded to do their airstrikes on tanks/soldiers/ships

Just re-route them around the ships. Additionally, it would be easy to avoid 2 boats.

  8. All I know is that apathetic community of Rose(what's left of it since all core members left) got sick of being rolled every single war and thus have hid behind you to fill their incompetence which turned out to work for them.

Nah, you don't know what you're talking about. Fighting wars with them every time meant that we talked and forth quite a bit.

Eventually we started playing online games (most notably Rust) with a few of their members, and they turned out to be pretty cool. My understanding is that TUGT/Elderon then worked on ties with them after that, and here we are.

If MENSA thought that they just wanted muscle to hide behind we wouldn't have signed them.

  9. Within two weeks every alliance that could possible oppose the Sydnisphere will be in rebuilding. Meanwhile tS and friends are coming off an econ project that significantly bolstered their alliances.

    >You think this war will end in two weeks.

Oh boy, do I have some news for you.

  10. On top of that, we can't pull alliances away from you either. No alliance will sign an outside treaty with someone in the opposite sphere.

You do realize that's exactly what happened with SK right? There's a few alliances that I think could be pulled away with some effort.

  11. Hah. You mean did I spend Christmas eve and Christmas day trying to wheel and deal with other alliances to come join a war? No. No I didn't talk to a single person from any alliance not involved except very short conversations telling them we're not looking for help. So no, there's going to be no surprise entrants. No big twist. I wasn't going to waste my holiday more than I had to because of this. Sorry to disappoint.

I mean, you spent a good deal of it shitposting on these forums. Seems as though attempting to rally a defensive force would have taken a similar amount of effort.

  12. I wasn't clear. I wasn't ranking them, I was giving popular alliances in a list to make the job easier.

Personally, I'd ran Term Est pretty low as they seem downright shills for Pre at this point.

Tbh, I'd put TEST on the upper-half of the spectrum. Sure they have their moronic parrots (jaguar comes to mind), but every alliance does -- additionally, their proportion of them seems to be lower than average. Furthermore, they generally utilize mechanics fairly well.

It's not that I think that TEST is intelligent, just that the standard in this game is pretty low.

  13. Valid CB and NAP violation

    Prepare to be McNuked

I'm in your war range, but you're not in mine. I assassinated your spies; attacking me is no longer a NAP-violation. Engage in a mutually-consenting 1v1 with me bruh.
