Please don't normalize posting an alliance thread every time someone decides to RP about their flag

I'm completely new to the forums; I don't know what's normal or not. Just decided to make a post about our flag for fun.

    Nice flag!

It’s too bad for your allies (WTF) that you didn’t have the shield in your flag a few days ago.

Best of luck with your changes and your pursuit to become a macro.

😂 I only wish we had more higher tier nations; it's a long term goal to work towards I guess.

    Thanks.

Terrible flag, I recommend getting someone with actually photoshop skills to make it.

Say what you want, that's your opinion. Personally, I value the symbolism of the flag over the actual image itself.

  4. Just some practical advice, take it however you want:

    1. Know what you're getting into before merging. It's called "merging" for a reason 😉.

    2. Don't make bargains when you can't hold up your end.

    3. Try not to mislead people. They can usually tell when you're twisting the truth.

    Have a lovely day/night.

This is something humans do not like to think about much, the fact that we can't control the world yet. I would say that that is the most likely option out of the three theories of humans' caused it, it ain't real, or its nature taking its course. We have only observed the earth's temp for less than two hundred years. We do not know how much the earth's temp has change before then. More than likely we are witnessing a regular cycle of the earth that we haven't documented cause it happens only every few hundred years.

Exactly. According to ice core samples (admittedly, only accurate to a certain degree), the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was 3x what is is now.

There are so many different factors that come into play when it comes to the earth's climate; and we can't really predict exactly what's going to happen over the next few years, never mind the next few days! As a matter of fact, in the 1970s, everyone thought we were plunging into a modern ice age due to a relative drop in global temperature.

Best thing to do is just try to understand things to a certain extent, and do what's reasonable. If sustainable energy (wind, solar, geothermal, etc.) becomes economically and physically viable in the future, I'm all for it. Right now though, I'm completely fine with burning fossil fuels for energy. In fact, fossil fuels are actually "renewable" in a sense; the CO2 that is released into the atmosphere is absorbed by plants, which in turn grow and release oxygen for us to breathe. Plants also are food for natural organisms, who then die. The remains of those organisms become fossil fuels over time (with heat and pressure) and are then burned again, releasing more CO2.

Nice to meet you, James, and welcome to the forums. I've been playing for about a year and a half now, so you have a little seniority on me lol. I hope you find the forums interesting, to say the least.

(Btw, I'm a mathematics and computer science major, so I'm sure we could talk quite a bit about those area(s) of study)

    Thanks for the welcome.

Neat! I took a singular comp sci course last term and really liked it. I wish I had time to learn a bit more about it; it is very interesting and applicable in this day and age.

Also I'm currently taking vector calculus, which has many uses in engineering; it's really very enlightening to learn how to apply mathematical equations to real life situations.

  7. Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd formally introduce myself. I'm James J. Brown, head Econ for SoL.

I've been in the game for almost 2 years now, just never bothered to come on the forums as they seemed pointless at the time.

I'm just a passionate guy who enjoys discussing politics and engaging in war when necessary.

I'm currently studying engineering; and I really enjoy discussing math and science-related things.

Anyway, just thought I'd put that out there. I look forward to making many witty remarks on the forums in the future.

I should go now; I have dozens of inactive C5 nations to message and I need to work out the $20 million SoL budget for next month.
