  1. Unique, individual posts that discuss and relate to the topic you are posting in. Perhaps you will actually get more out of engaging in proper discussion in threads.

I see. I think if you were lenient instead of leniant, there would be no trouble.

Joking aside, your personal opinion does not alter an empirical tendency of poorly moderated MMOs to fail to reach the critical mass and go under.

And I cannot see for the life of me why posting an ASCII text in a celebration thread makes the community worse. This might be because it is not, but I am open to new arguments other than "it is bad because we say so with our infinite wisdom."

Being an academician who converses with Nobel prize laureates every now and then, I would appreciate an articulate response. But what would I know. After all, random moderators on the internet are more qualified to reach certain verdicts than me.

One of the beautiful things about message boards like this is that real life status makes no difference and everyone is conversing from an equal footing, so please do not try and use whatever real life position you claim to possess to give your posts more weight. As we have said multiple times, discussion on the ASCII posts is now over and has been had plenty of times. Sheepy has also ruled on it so please stop bringing it up, or I will be forced to lock more of these threads and hand out more warns.

  2. The nation link on my account links to whoever clicks it's nation.

    Correct.

And if you maintain this mentality, you will only see this community diminish.

When a browser-game does not reach a critical mass, it vanishes without a trace.

It is known to many MMO players that poor moderation lies at the heart of the dissolution of many MMOs, because it destroys community.

I honestly wish that it will not be the case for P&W, but given the substance of the replies and actions in the past few days, I am skeptical.

    Good luck anyway.

Correct, and I am one of the players who also believes that, however this is not one of those situations. If we rolled over on every issue a group of players takes up with us, this forum would be a mess and unusable. Rules are rules, and we are often very leniant.
  3. The rules were made by Sheepy to avoid witch hunting and disrespect. They will not be changed I'm afraid so that's the last question I will answer on this particular topic. I understand that you guys are upset by this whole ordeal but constantly arguing against the mods and disregarding the rules in this community is only going to get all of you eventually banned by the sheer amount of warns.

  4. Topics are locked when the question has clearly been answered and is now simply being ignored and repeated.

The threads in question were not needed to be reopened as the question was answered by sheepy in his announcement. We are not unwilling to discuss rules as you will see many threads here doing that, but if you refuse to listen and disregard what we say, your threads will get locked.

  5. You've been answered, this topic will no longer be discussed and each time you create a new thread for it now it will simply be locked and you will receive a warn as you just have.

  6. It does add something baboon. It is contibution. It is not against the rules. It is not spam nor flooding.

Please refrain from making a big deal out of something that is fun.

What you are doing now is modding arbitrarily and that is not really cool. It is counter to the health of your forum and the game.

Trust me, I know more than anyone about soft modding and keeping the game fun, that is half the reason I was appointed and I was very against heavy handed modding and am in favour of letting people have fun. However blatant disregard for the modding staff, who put their own extra time and effort into running this forum effectively, is 100% not a good thing and is detrimental to the health of the forum. You need to now take a step back, look at it from a mods perspective and "check yo self". As we have said, any post in the awards thread that disregards what we have said and is a clear attempt to annoy the modding staff will receive a warn.

We are not making a big deal of anything, you are the guys that made this thread. We are also not modding arbitrarily, we have said our piece and as mods are all agreed. In the future please try to make better contribution to the community in your posts to avoid further warns.

  7. This is getting ridiculous now. I don't care how it works in other games, here, if your post offers no contribution to the discussion at hand, and is simply a direct repeat of something someone else just said, whether a quote or a copy and paste, it is regarded as spam by the moderation team. It doesn't matter if it is from another games culture, or you have been doing it for 7 years in your back garden, if it is a direct re-post of what someone has already said, it is spam. We are lenient on this to an extent, but when you get 5+ in a row it becomes ridiculous and adds nothing it should and will be stopped. Please refrain from doing this in the future. By all means, roleplay and post that ASCII, just add some more original content to your post. Thank you.

  8. Fizban literally just said up thread that that might not have been the case.

The simple fact that the response that would have been generated can't be agreed upon, and therefore isn't uniform, makes a discussion about what is or isn't allowed prudent.

    Also, I like your avatar.

He said 'might'. We are only human and therefore use our judgement based on the rules when handing out warns or making posts on threads. I personally would have made the same comment fiz did regardless of what was posted as it was repeated many times with no additional content.

  9. Celebrating is fine, repeatedly posting the same thing is not, that is spam, as you were informed by fizban. In response to your question, if you had all put the exact same 'hurrah, we won' you would also have received the same response.
