Guys, Pfeiffer really likes his spies. Stop killing them.

Mensa's future actions aren't determined by your straw man argument. There are all manner of ways of maintaining our morals without being stupid or liars, as I'm sure you well know.
Morals, yes, principles no. What makes something a principle is that you don't violate it. If you violate this "Finding traitors dishonorable thing" in the future then it's not a principle. If someone leaks to you and you don't immediately turn them over and refuse to use the leak to your advantage then this isn't a principle, it's an excuse or at best a convenience.
Nobody's upset that you attacked him. Whatever, hit him, nobody cares. People are upset because of your rationale which is just obviously fake (because nobody's going to condemn every leaker and never condone leaks to themselves). Everyone can see right through it and in one post I got you to admit that it's not a principle despite having claimed as much. So why not just say what this actually is:
We wanted to hit SAI-40 for the lulz and/or someone put us up to it and if there's a leak under different circumstances we don't care.
Instead of going:
Loyalty to the alliance is important, regardless of what alliance it is. Leaks undermine that loyalty. Therefore leaks are bad. And we're going to punish leakers.
You can claim to have not painted yourselves into a corner. That doesn't make the paint around your feet any less wet or poorly suited to your cabinets. Painting yourselves into a corner is just objectively what this was.
EDIT: Also you apparently don't know what a strawman argument is.

I hold no official position in Mensa but it's clear that there's no hard and fast rule here. Mensa are against treachery but we're also geniuses. We value morals but also look at the bigger picture.
Every case is presumably taken on it's own individual merits. All factors are to be considered and appropriate action, if any is needed, can come in different forms and timescales. Even inaction itself can be the logical and correct move in certain circumstances. Fallacies will not back us into a corner. We will progress and adapt without fear of contradiction.
Correct choice. Way better to be liars than stupid. Although it was kind of stupid to lie so obviously in the first place, it was definitely less stupid than just picking the stupid choice.

So if this is about disloyalty, if someone were disloyal to VE, for instance, Mensa would take the same action, yes? Or BoC or whatever. Mensa condemns leaking in general and won't partake in or benefit from it?
If someone leaks something to you will you immediately tell the people they offended via leaking, inform them to counteract the treachery? Because it's not about the alliance they're in. It's about disloyalty. Right? So if anyone leaked anything to you, by following your logical progression to its conclusion you would have to !@#$ them over. And possibly attack them.
So either:
A: Nobody will ever leak anything to you because you'll just screw them over and not benefit from their leak.
OR
B: You are intellectually disingenuous and/or are lying about the motivations for this.
Which is it? Are you stupid or are you liars? Being liars is fine. People lie. But you're in a position where, in order to preserve your lies, you're going to have to lie and pretend to be stupid. Which is maybe not a wise move. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you guys were put up to this, honestly. Because that seems most likely. Because if that's not the case, by following this route you've forced yourselves to either say "We're too principled for you to leak to us so never tell us anything." or at some point admit that you don't actually have any of these principles and you're really just liars. Which will make you look wishywashy because the !@#$ing point of having principles is that you don't violate them.

Elpinchazo:
When I had been playing the game about thirty or forty days and had just started my bank, I sent you a message that pissed you off. To this day, I insist that you took it the wrong way and we're really kind of a !@#$ about it, but whatever.
This sparked the roughly two and a half month long hostilities between me and TEst but mostly between me and you. We !@#$ed each other out in game, on the forums, and on irc. I have never devoted more time to flaming or trolling in my entire life.
One day on IRC someone who shall not be named bashed on me for being gay and implied that I wanted to molest children because I was gay. Before I could even finish my acid retort, you started going to town on them. And I learned something incredibly important about you: You will take a stand for what is right regardless of the circumstances. We would continue our pissing match a while after that, but I respected the Hell out of you from that day forward.
You and I wound up finding ourselves on the same side of arguments a lot. Mostly because everyone besides us was probably being retarded. We would talk in query after these arguments about said stupidity. Despite my very best efforts I grew to genuinely like you. I honestly thought you still held a grudge until you had a perfect opportunity to exact your revenge and chose not to take it.
You flamed me countless times.
You almost attacked me twice.
You tried to get me kicked out of my alliance once.
You argued with me dozens of times.
I want you to know that I wouldn't change a thing. I enjoyed every moment. You added zest to the game for me without which I probably would have quit at one point. You are a credit to the game and to your alliance. Keep on being awesome.
Phiney: You were there too, I think. Congrats on the promotion. Don't !@#$ up.

I see SAI joined Noir. Jodo: We can rebuild him. We have the technology.
Grillick: I love you.
-
Hate to intrude, but for the next week I'm offering rebuilding loans at below market interest rates to anyone who was involved in the war. Obviously I can deny you for any reason, stated or unstated. But other than that, come get yer loans for cheap before we run out!
-
Saeton and Rampage/Cynic/Psycho were both granted extensions on their debt during which they wouldn't have to make payments without suffering late penalties for the duration of the war. This deal was made in private, three witnesses were notified in both instances and can bear witness to its existence, the respective parties accepting it, etc. etc.
As of 9 PM EST tonight, Cirrus considers the hostilities closed, normal interest will resume with the loans being lowered to their previous rates and the first interest compounding thereof will occur four days from 9PM EST tonight, the first of April. This effectively grants each of them somewhere between fifteen and twenty hours during which interest didn't compound and they weren't responsible for a payment.

Deleted upon reflection.

This sort of notoriety is half the reason why people leak imo.
If anyone in Guardian/TEst ever wants to be famous all they have to do is leak shit.
-
I interpret it as being wrong.>takes this game way too seriously
Sureee Sai... Says someone who leaked the plan of a great super happy fun time because you apparently can't stand the way how other people are enjoying the game as it is
I rather doubt anyone would ever think that more people involved equals to less chance to leak. That's just my personal opinion, you may interpret is however way you may please
And no, it's patrick
-
It's a really rare occurence for someone to leak something from a plan that involves so many people like this, and as a topping on the ice cream, it's from an infamously warmongering alliance. Better enjoy the show while it's still hot
Does Guardian believe involving more people in a plan makes it less likely to leak or is that just you?
Is this sarcasm?

I honestly think this game will reach new lows if that is what this comes down to. People shouldn't be reset because they couldn't be bothered going through hundreds and in some cases thousands of tax records in one day.
Cirrus Investments: So you don't have to.
-
Cirrus would like to announce a new service:
For a small fee I will comb through your bank and tax records every day and make sure all your nations aren't about to get reset.
Cirrus: For when you're not sure if that 200k was there before.
-
Yeah I'm honestly not worried about BoC because we have an incredibly active and annoyingly vigilant Ministry of Finance (I have stories). If anyone can catch that shit it's them. But can you at least give us a margin for error? Like say we had a cash flow of 8 mil in and out in a day. It's understandable that 200k wouldn't be noticed immediately, particularly before we close out for the day and count taxes.
Also are you going to notify alliances via in game messages? Because a lot of small alliances aren't active on the forums. Others may just miss this thread.
If we have money in the bank, then the money appears can we use money up to the amount we had initially?
Are you going to give us losing cash similar attention in the future?

-
Okay so if we woke up and there was an extra 500 mil in the BoC bank that's obvious. But if it's an extra 500k and we just happen to miss that, are we all reset?
