You of all people should know that no one ever "wins" these games.
We're all winning because we're all making new friends!

I also assumed that the food spike was due to the war.

I would also be interesting in hearing opinions before I buy it.

Free market all the way. People should feel obligated to not work any job where the pay is sub-standard.
You want to see what a free market looks like? Go to Wiliston, ND and get a job at McD's or Walmart - you get paid well over $15 an hour since demand outweighs supply.
Don't want employers to hire at $8, don't work that job so they have to raise pay in order to fill job openings.
I generally agree, but low wage-low skill jobs are important. They give people opportunities to BUILD skills. When you raise minimum wage, you take that opportunity away. Particularly from poorer neighborhoods.

Take care.

Oh, my. People really got worked up about this, I see.

No, that's why they might support a minimum wage increase. But they aren't.
Walmart denies reports that it's lobbying in favor of higher minimum wage? Why would they ever den- Oh, that's right. Duh.

Some alliances (Such as this one: https://politicsandwar.com/alliance/id=637) give you money when you join to help you build.

Welcome!

I hope you enjoy this game. Welcome.

Thanks!

That's exactly why they do it. It drives smaller businesses out of business, increases market share, and allows them to mark up.
-
That's valid.

Hahaha isn't that charming! Just remember that this was my turf first and if you take a penny from me I'll break your legs! Cheers!

Literally nobody is arguing that increasing the minimum wage won't increase cost of living and prices.
But it is absolutely false to state that there are any statistics or studies that demonstrate that an increase in the minimum wage would increase cost of living more than (or even the same amount as) it would increase median and/or mean incomes.
Except it's not.
Answer me this: Why does Wal-Mart lobby for a higher minimum wage?

If left a zero out. Supposed to be 200. Fixing.

I did listen to the downloadable broadcast and I liked it a lot. Helpful and entertaining. Thank you for contributing in this way.

I can see why you would think that, but... I do disagree for the reasons I already mentioned. There are things they could have done to make it a more radical departure. I suspect that we will see alien playables in an expansion in the future, for instance.
I think they should have given the factions more flavor than they did. Because there's really none at all. I really liked the addition of orbital units; I thought that was quite clever. I think that that could have been taken a step further, though.
If I had to pick the thing I liked most about the game it would probably be the new social policy mechanic. If I had to pick the thing I liked least it would probably be the aliens and how the aliens are a necessary part of gameplay. You couldn't turn them off even if that option were available in the interface (which it is not). Games are less customizable.

I'm quite new here, but I sincerely hope you enjoy this game as much as I'm enjoying it!

Yeah I've noticed that. Raiding in actives is huge in most similar games but here alliances have a strong incentive to keep in actives around.
-
I have a theory on this that I'm putting into practice. I won't talk about it unless it works though, lol. So I'll report back. Maybe.
-
We could have a graphics contest with an in game reward to make it more involving and take the work away from admin.
-
I don't know. This idea seems really brutal to me. Because land is frickin expensive. It would also disproportionately help older nations. Which I think is backwards.
