Turkey's military operation in Syria - a real threat to Europe

Recommended Posts

According to the United Nations, the Turkish Armed Forces’ military operation Peace Spring in northern Syria led to numerous casualties among civilians and forced above 160 thousand civilians for displacement. Many Western globalists consider illegal migration from Syria as a real threat to European civilization.

Renaud Girard, a leading journalist of the French newspaper “Le Figaro”, published an article regarding Turkey’s threat to European countries. In his article, Girard stated that "Erdogan is threatening Europe by opening the border for millions of refugees." In his opinion, "this is not just an incident of a regional scale."

Moreover, according to the Swedish “Sverige Radio”, the Turkish government is tightening the situation with the Syrian refugees in the country and hindering their routine lives, so moving to Europe turns out to be the only way out for many migrants.

Against this background, former defense minister of France, Herve Morin, said in an interview with “LCI” that Turkey’s membership in NATO should be revoked, as the Turkish military invasion of northern Syria triggered a wave of massacres that forced Syrians to flee their homes.

Obviously, Turkish aggression on Syria, as well as Erdogan’s threat to open a “corridor for refugees to Europe”, will not only negatively affect Ankara’s relations with European countries, but can also lead to a complete breakdown in relations with the imposition of economic and military sanctions.
