The Venusian Operation

The primary purpose of arriving in this new universe was simple. With minimal space age nations residing in and around the Sol System, the prospects any of them could terraform Venus into anything except its current state was unlikely. The original plans for terraforming MS-1 Venus had to be scrapped 60% through its completion. The project commander was one, Princess Aife. She sat alone aboard her personal flagship. The Ath-ma'ai Class Command Ship Niun's Fury. She had plans to rename the planet Venus, Niun, upon her forces securing its orbitals. She had lots of time to plan this excursion. After all, the last project the Mri conducted for Venus went perfect until the stations were attacked.

 

With her own small fleet in position she begins bringing in the terraforming station. It takes several hours of hundreds of smaller ships pulling the enormous station through the rift gate before they are able to successfully install it in geo-synchronous orbit above Venus facing the Sun. The station itself is massive. A square, 1.5x the size of Venus to block out all sunlight which could reach the planet to begin the cooling process. The process is expedited by the dropping of several anti-matter missiles into the upper atmosphere to break up cloud formations and permit the surface to vent into space.

No true interference from the locals as Princess Aife continued to run her tests. She checked in with her relative who was running the experiments on the planet Orbis. As of now, the Venusian atmosphere was being protected and heat was being vented into space. Thus far, the temperature had dropped by 20% of what they were planning on bringing it down to. It was cool enough now for the first of the atmospheric vents to be deployed. It was a secondary station, for low orbit of the planet, that would capture atmosphere and use Rift gates to send it to fabricators on the surface of Orbis where the matter would be changed into something more useful.While the project sped along in the early stages, Aife knew that the later stages of the plan slowed significantly. Once surface settlements became established, then the environmental changes had to be much less drastic. Fortunately, with no life on the planet, they were free to quickly and dangerously change the planet's atmosphere and climate without much worry.
