I recently decided to look-up where the Politics and war server is held, and I found that it is held within the United States. The United States has no federal laws against incest. I request that the ban on incest related discussions in the debate forum be struck down, as the reasoning behind it was in error. I am also up for discussion on this, and I request that this thread not be locked the second someone comments on it. All I am doing is pointing out an error in the rules.

You're funny. Did you enjoy the gratuitous CG desk fan?
There were many gratuitous things I enjoyed about that show. The desk fan was among them, but by no means my sole reason for watching the show. I like the show, as it is not afraid to go full baka if you catch my drift.

Here is my recommendation thingy, if anyone is interested in what to watch next. Feel free to critique it as well or recommend a new one to the list, I am surprisingly open minded.

I, Drew Pickles like the idea of a lottery. But perhaps it would be more beneficial to make the stakes a bit higher. What I am saying is that, to enliven Orbis, it may be a good idea to make a belligerent lottery. How this would go down would be that one writes down all the alliance names, and sticks them into a hat (or something equally as random). The hat would then be shuffled, and an alliance (or nation, however you feel like doing this) would be chosen. Said alliance (or nation) would then meet the lead and steel of your alliance. To get out of the hat, one would have to buy a lottery ticket. But again, all lottery's are fun.

I like the change in soldier production. It helps nations that are getting pummeled get back onto their feet.

Yall are casuals. Here are some of my faves:
Yosuga no Sora. Probably one of the greatest love stories ever told.
Code Geass: Edgy Gundam combined with V for Vendetta that appeals to just about everyone. Admittedly somewhat casual though
Madoka Magica: Like Magical Girl Evangelion, but without the filler. Also SHAFT art
Also Oreimo. Just look at my sig if you want a picture. Another contender for greatest love story ever told.
Just got finished Geass, so I am probably going to watch something soon. Any good animu this season?

I believe that using the moderation question sub-forum to discuss policy changes is not the best place for that. I believe that it deserves its own separate sub-forum. I recently made a discussion topic about a proposed policy change. The topic got shut down very fast, before other people could contribute to it. The topic did not violate any rules (to my knowledge), I think that the separate sub-forum would be better, as it would let people know about proposed policy changes. If they see a topic in the moderation question sub-forum, they will mostly assume it is a question, and not go there. If there is a separate sub-forum, there could also be less topic locks. Perhaps only locking the topic if it violates the rules, or is significantly derailed. Also not sure where this thread should go, as it is about the forum structure, and not the game itself. Please move if you feel that this is in the wrong location.

rainbow color?

the different unit types could help make it so that someone who is being attacked by a larger enemy force could still realistically fight them off

I suggest that the appeal time for warnings is shortened. A month to appeal one warning can take very long, especially if you have multiple warnings. This is especially the case if a moderator punishes you for something that is technically not breaking the written rules. I believe that you should be able to appeal multiple warnings after a week. A week is significant enough time to reflect on your actions, but not too much time like how it sits right now. I also suggest that ban's be appeal-able after a month. As someone who has had a problem with this before, I say that half a year is way too long to be banned without an appeal. To be honest, I dont see what the point is of making a time limit on appeals anyway. If someone made an error in banning you, why should you have to wait so long to appeal? It does not make sense. Most people on this game have not even played for 180 days, so that is a bit ridiculous. It would also be nice if the mods would respond to emails and/or game PM's.

Anyone know how to get rid of a pimple in the ear? I somehow managed to acquire this. I used to think there was nothing worse than a hemorrhoid. I was mistaken. I cant even put my head on a pillow.

I think that we should be compensated for this great atrocity committed against us.
-
yeah, this game could definetly go with more unit types

If you purposely exploit a faulty game mechanic to give yourself an unfair game advantage against other players, I would consider that abuse of an exploit. If one abuses exploits, they ought to be punished. The punishment should vary depending on the severity of the damage done to other players. If one purposely sells infrastructure to lower their level, and attack noob players with massive armies, than that player who abused the exploit should be punished severely. While I would not recommend a ban, I would recommend that his nation be reset, and his victims be given some form of compensation roughly equal to the damages that were inflicted via his exploit.

I was on the receiving end too, still was fun
Tis' better to give than to receive I suppose. I wonder how long this will last anyhow

Isn't that our whole existince though?
No, we have a purpose in mind. Chaos

Chess itself is a very fair game. every 6 hours, you can move a piece. You can get more of certain pieces depending on your military size and type. This way it would be very hard to cheat, and wars would not be declared over silly things.
-
yeah screw your terms, I will keep up the fight

bad idea, chess is a slow and long game, if you want strategy i would suggest having tactics selection in ground, naval, air
War is also a slow and long game. And the game would have to be significantly modified. Instead of attacking every turn, you would instead move a chess piece

Nation name: Drewland
Nation Link: http://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=900
Surrendering to: UPN
This war is not in Drewlands best interests. Many men will die on both sides, and I see not the point of this conflict. You have proven your point quite well. I surrender to you swell fellows

War is not very balanced right now. If there was a hypothetical vietnam in the game, it would get quashed by hypothetical US, because there really is no strategy. Its more or less who gets the strike first, and how has more war preparedness
I have a solution to this most terrible of problems
wait for it.
WAR IS CHESS!!
Imagine the amount of tactics that could be had if war was a modified form of chess. The amount and types of pieces would vary on your army size.

do we have the option of declaring victory, or is it forced on us? It just doesnt seem that beneficial to win wars if the reward is not that great. I could keep gaining 50-80k every 6 hour, versus gaining 10% of cash (which wouldnt even be that much) and some resources that I could care less about. I would rather keep gaining the money than win to be honest.

This is something that I believe is going to be necessary for the game to work properly. Right now when you look at the Continents Leaderboards: http://politicsandwar.com/leaderboards/display=continent
You'll see that Europe, Asia, and North America basically have all of the nations. Since nation location is a choice made right when you register and when you sign up you probably don't understand the consequences and permanence fully, I think we might end up with some economic issues in the long run. I know that changing the location of your country is ridiculous in realistic terms, but I think it's a break we'll have to make for gameplay.
Being able to change continent once every 30 days seems okay to me, and then we could add in some sort of small continent bonus possibly similar to the color stock bonuses we have currently. Also it would give us some room to have the Alliance HQ factor into gameplay somehow as well. (Perhaps in the same way color stock does, that if you want the bonus you must be on the same continent your alliance is headquartered on. This would narrow down the resource pool per alliance and force inter-alliance cooperation)
Thoughts?
I like most of the ideas, except for the alliance hq factor. I always thought the idea of the alliance HQ was silly anyways. But now that it could have effects on gameplay, yikes!
