thats actually a really cool idea... have captured POW's be added to your pop of a city of your choice, but then once that cities infra goes down they POW's disapear. like a boost to population in a city that lasts until the next war.

i aggreee that we need more variety for strategy. wouldn't it be cool if you had to pick between an air superiority air force that will keep your tanks safe, or splurge on bombers to destroy enemy improvements? this would improve depth.

but on the other hand many would not look at alliance trade tab and never see the good deals.

I like the war ideas. I personally think there needs to be some more strategy or at least randomness in wars. imagine if a raider declared war but then it started raining so you had time to build up and then what coulve been a lightning death turned into a big slog. that could be really cool

Most alliances have a guide that they expect you to follow, but Unless you join a command economy alliance they most likely wont enforce anything unless you do something really, really stupid like run 15 nuclear power plants in 1 city.
so basically, if you follow a good build, most alliances will let you do whatever

Well first of all, you can only have up to 3 dry docks (not 5). Why? I don't know. Ask Alex lol. Second, yes, the main reason most people don't have ships is because they are generally too expensive to maintain during peace time and the improvements can be better used for commerce, production, etc. Basically, their cost versus benefit cannot be justified for most.
thanks

I noticed most people dont have ships- they might have 5 buildings for all other units, but only 3 for ships, for example. But why is that? are they just to expensive? I feel like people would want large navies to blockade others, and to protect there own trade and shipping, but that doesn't seem to be the case. why dont enormous food producers have enormous navies to protect there revenue and trade? I feel like I am missing something here.

Not really. There's a stacking bonus for raw and manufactured improvements - the more of one type you have, the more you make (max of 10 for non-uranium raws and max of 5 for uranium and manufactured gives a 50% bonus)
yes, I understand that in 1 city there is a benefit to only do one resource, and I said that in my original post. I was wondering about all my cities in total, for example 5 aluminum cities and 5 munitions cities vs all aluminum or all munitions.

Is It A good idea to manufacture multiple things, like both aluminum and munitions (in different cities of course) or is there some reason I should only make 1?

You could have moon rover give lunarium, and with enough lunarium, you can construct a statue in your capital that shows up as an award and boosts raw resource production in the capital by 50%
