  1. Poison Clan took in some Bloc Party spais. They should distract Nettles during the great purges.

Guardian seems to be fighting back against TOO. Best of luck, since raiding has been nerfed.

Look forward to Bloc Party splintering or breaking the game. 100+ members is a feat, even if they're all small.

  2. Man, I remember when this was a good alliance. Unkajo was the man, and everybody got to roll somebody, sometime. Then Unkajo ascended to godhood, his successor Caustic came down with real-life syndrome, and then Nettles got put in charge. At first he was cool, you know: fresh blood at mealtimes, neato profane rituals, that sort of thing.

But then he started babbling about being the earthly incarnation of Baron Samedi, and now Poison Clan can't supply enough virgins for his sacrifices, and it's just a hassle, man. We've had to raid half the nations on Orbis just to satisfy his bloodlust. It's gotten all Haitian up in here, even with the NoR albinos begging in the streets.

  3. Caustic might be out for a little while. Nettles is substitute fearless leader. Prepare all for the horrific purging to follow. If someone knocks on your door at midnight, DO NOT ANSWER IT! It's his cultists seeking to rip out your heart. You must believe me! Why doesn't anybody believe me?

  4. I guess it ultimately depends on how long you want the Beta to be

Cheaper infra will let people get access to jets/tanks/expensive improvements faster so they can run put them through their paces. Expensive infra will make for a longer game that takes fewer game features for people to stay interested.

I'd say use the cheaper infra for Beta so everything can have a more robust test, but I'd change it back when the game goes live and everyone gets rerolled. Otherwise, it'll get boring a lot faster and war will be less consequential. I'm never one to hug pixels, but losing a battle shouldn't be without consequences.

Larger software companies do the same thing with their Alpha/Beta versions. That's the origin of cheat codes.

  5. Ultimately, this is always battle between builder-weenies and warhawks. The builder-weenies have neutral alliances. Warhawks have each other to roll, although some will always eye the larger neutrals as a potentially easy adversary. That's why you've got diplomacy.

A few players might want the ego trip of taking on individual alliances by themselves, but that is better served in a single-player game. Building, trading, and fighting alongside others is the heart of MMO games. There's lots of free or cheap single-player games if you need the ego trip.

The appeal of these games is the coordination between teams of people. If the same results were available from playing individually, there's no need for anyone to join an alliance. Or play an MMO, really.

  6. Is it possible to make a trade recurring? Say Nation A wants to trade a resource to Nation B on the same terms every day for a long period of time.

This would encourage more trade linkages and encourage bigger nations (with more money) to peacefully court smaller nations (with cheaper access to resources). It'd also help small nations grow faster.

Warfare would also be more strategic/intelligence based, with enemy alliances having to seek out the suppliers of their worst adversaries.

  7. It's called a neutral alliance. If they get a big enough bloc, they'll essentially be in "peace mode". It ensures that the neutral alliances at least have to play politics to keep their bloc together.

  8.

If you are refering to our propaganda, I have discussed this personally with admin, and he has stated that what I have presented to him is acceptable. As he has already pointed out, we're just above the line. The moment we slip below it, he will take action and I will have no issue with his judgement.

I've seen quite a few Reichsadlers (containing the Swastika, however small) and Nazi soldiers with Sig runes on their uniforms (like in Trebs' signature) around the place, which I had thought would have been over the line, to be honest.

Banning a Reichsadler, even though it stems from the HRE, would be like banning the U.S. flag because it has the same stars and stripes as the Confederate flag, with its own connections to racism and mass murder. The eagle has been in use since Roman times and is seen as a symbol of strength by many cultures.

Germans may have gone through inexcusable madness in WWII, but that doesn't mean they have to ignore their history prior to that. They aren't the only country with a tarnished history or mass murder/genocide in their past. The U.S., China, Iran, North Korea, Japan, Israel, India, Turkey, Rwanda, and all of Europe have had flirtations with their own Holocausts at different points in history. It was all horrible, but it doesn't mean their history or culture should be universally banned on principle.

Swastikas are irreversibly linked to racists and trolls. German history is not.
