  1. I've went ahead and hid all of the offtopic/ooc posts from this thread. It's clear this thread was meant to show the history of the political climate web as time went on and is without a doubt a good contribution to the community. With that in mind instead of locking the thread I simply hid all of the unnecessary posts that simply highlight the bad contributions to this game so that this thread can live on. Nevertheless, people should stay on topic from now on.

  2. If it isn't another post getting a lot of unneeded posts that add nothing but giving me the enjoyment of warning people. Let's remember to keep it civil guys and stay on topic. Lastly a pro tip for some of you, insulting in your argument only works to weaken it and if you don't believe that saying then know it leads to me having to hide and possibly warning you, so you end losing either way.

Right? At this point, they should make their own WoT thread to debate that lol.

I have to read every single one, but nevertheless I'll be kind and leave this post open seeing it started off with good intentions and got derailed, but if it continues to be OOC insults and constant derailing we will have to lock it.

Making moderator names public would go a long way to dissuade this. Faceless moderation inherently fosters a "us vs them" when there's disagreements, whereas each party knowing the other adds that level of humanity to it and makes things a lot less confrontational in the long run.

Then people will know my true identity as Les Paul Supreme. . . Oh wait. . .

On a more serious note, I didn't have the chance to read over the whole change of rules, but for players to have the chance to know what mod gave them a warning and so on would be a plus even if it's an alias. It allows for players to see if they're constantly being targeted by a certain mod, and compare said mod actions with other players with the similar offense. It would give the chance to single out issues like this of bias as the community, and make mods more identifiable even if it's just an alias. Just like me currently as a Forum Mod.

On a darker note, I have a terminal blood disorder which has many many adverse effects. Immuno Thrombocytapenia is vastly understudied and is so unknown that many doctors have no idea what it is. All you need to know is occasionally my sleeping abilities get !@#$ed and I am awake for days on end before being unable to function for weeks, I may have medical interventions (although this is rare nowadays), and I am pretty morbid because death is my homie.

Life can always be a strain with all the things that it imposes on you, but luckily it seems you've carried on for the better, and have found happiness in things throughout your life. I hope for there to be more of that then darkness, no one should be left there.

I'm glad P&W has brought you happiness through the community. Wish you all the well out there.

Hello Orbis, If you do not know I am the abomination of a nation that is loosely based off of West Virginia (okay not loosely), Kanawha. Although Kanawha has been around a tiny bit longer than the newest nations on the game (those who are probably just joining within the last few months), I am happy to say that Kanawha is going to be celebrating 1 Year on the platform in 11 Days (Maybe 12 cause I have no clue what timezone the server for the game is in.)

Upcoming I am also celebrating another large milestone (personally for me) around December when My NationStates Nation, Which everything but the politics is based off of Ukraine, is turning (I believe) 5 years Old!!! (Yay balloons and sarcasm).

I know: EWWW A MULTIPLATFORMER... But NS Still makes me laugh and I enjoy it too as much as I enjoy Politics & War. Before I end this very first forums post, I'd like to leave you with some small facts about Kanawha.

    - In Character/RP perspectives, Kanawha actually isn't a Sovereign Nation, but in fact a colony of [REDACTED]

    - Kanwaha suffered its first nuclear strike as a result of the Coal Revolution in the City of Nitro, and you can say it was a 'miner' inconvenience.

    - Kanawha's largest production is munitions, while its largest consumed resource in amount is Lead (Go Figure)

    - (And Finally) Kanawha is named after the Kanawha River that runs from Gauley Bridge, WV (at the end of the Gauley and New Rivers) to Henderson/Point Pleasant, WV emptying into the Ohio River.

Dedication to the roleplay side of things is always fun. If you haven't I would suggest to find yourself an alliance that suits you, and to also complete the objectives given to you (One of those will bring you to the P&W discord server, which will introduce you to the community). Lastly, enjoy your time in Orbis.

If someone were to create a nation that was just an incredibly thin nation that spread across more than 5 continents, how would it affect resource gain? I'm new, so I don't know if anyone has attempted to exploit this.

Sadly the nation size map feature is simply cosmetic. Where you place your nation at first is what continent you solely get, so to summarize where you started is what continent you get.

  8. Welcome Landon, if you haven't I suggest you join our P&W Discord; it should appear on the objectives you have in stored. For the P&W community, like any gaming community it has it's batch of bad apples, but hopefully you settle into the right alliance and avoid most of them through that way. If any major issues occur, please do not be hesitant to message any discord moderator or Alex (Main Admin) to help you resolve it. Good luck in your Orbis adventures eitherway.
