I don't think it's a bad idea. Adapt or die, that's how the world works and that's how this game is going to do as well. This also gives specialization to the nation, as well as demanding more coordination between nations. 

 

Way I see it, it could be nice. Fix spies next plz.

Edit: Tanks are useless if this gets through, just via mechanics of war. My guess for the future ratio is 8 Barracks, 7 Airforce bases. It's alright, I don't use tanks anyway.

It's a useful mental exercise. Through the years, many thinkers have been fascinated by it. But I don't enjoy playing. It was a game that was born during a brutal age when life counted for little. Everyone believed that some people were worth more than others. Kings. Pawns. I don't think that anyone is worth more than anyone else. Chess is just a game. Real people are not pieces. You can't assign more value to some of them and not others. Not to me. Not to anyone. People are not a thing that you can sacrifice. The lesson is, if anyone who looks on to the world as if it was a game of chess, deserves to lose.

18 air bases per city

Edit: In all seriousness, would open up more choices to make. Although I feel unsure about this.

 

If you have 18 airbases per city, I can build 13 airbases, 2 factories and 3 barracks (each per city), gain ground control, after which your 18 airforce bases will be effectively 12 airforce bases. It also depends on who is striking first, but 18 airforce bases can still be defeated easily.

 

EDIT: Yes it adds a lot of combinations, I think it will be an interesting change. It will affect the way people coordinate during wars as well.

 

2nd EDIT: This change will seriously deflate the value of steel, as people will build lots of airforce and soldiers. May be along with this change, we should consider costlier aircrafts, one which requires 6-10 aluminium rather than 3 aluminium.

I like this. It encourages more forethought before launching wars and more cooperation within an alliance, since members will need to shore up others' weaknesses with their strengths (that does mean independent nations like mine will suffer though.

You can additionally change the score per tank, aircraft etc. , which catapults only aircraft users in heights where he doesn't want to be, or where he is of no use.

All the backlash about this idea is in regards to planes, surely this just means planes are still not balanced compared to the other units, not that this idea sucks? Hypothetically, if planes weren't as OP would people be behind the idea on the basis it promotes tactics and teamwork over maxing?

People will soon find the sweet spot and in six months we'll be looking at fixing the war system again.
