The Turks don't recognize the Armenian genocide, and the Japanese don't recognize everything they did in World War 2. If that's the case with Germany, maybe they should change their country's name to something like......."Lolly-Pop Land" and start from scratch. If I were to make fun of people with depression in this thread it would still be a gross thing to do and offensive, even if it wasn't directed at you. Why can't you just remove those offensive jokes and apologize? Is it that hard? It's depressing that even a role-playing game like Politics and War has to deal with the phenomenon of the "outrage industry". So what's up, they have a kinda-maybe a flag with a maybe-kinda nazi symbol in it somewhere, and a ball team with "SS" in it? Admittedly I skimmed some earlier posts, so maybe a few other lil things like that too? Did you really expect to participate in an online war game where you create your own nations and not see a touch of nazi inspired naming and symbols? It's meant to role play as fictional leaders of fictional nations in this fictional world. We understand that there are players who are offended by images and likenesses that they associate with Nazi Germany. Actual Nazi imagery which is associated worldwide with Nazism, such as the swastika, is forbidden here. That does not mean that every image used which may have had affiliation to Nazi Germany is forbidden. Images and posts which strictly pertain to Nazi Germany, as well as those which promote Nazism, genocide, and so forth will be dealt with by the mod team. What is and isn't deemed offensive or within the boundaries of what's acceptable is at the discretion of the mod team. We will not continue to debate the merits of other instances in which the swastika, eagle, and other images have been used outside of Nazi Germany. This was decided months ago by Sheepy and it has not changed. Role playing as a German nation and/or alliance is not against the rules. Likenesses to a Nazi party, without expressly using the swastika, images of Hitler, images or posts pertaining to genocide, and promoting Nazism is not against the rules. In the history of the real world, many nations have been guilty of acts that various players will take offense to.
