Final Communique from the Socialist International

Last fall, I came back to P&W for Stable with the hopes of creating an alliance of leftists to be together amongst the greats of the new planet. Instead, the workers continued to scatter, splitting over petty grievances, with many abandoning the left entirely for a dry spot under the umbrella. The first major speedbump was the war with TEst, which led to Xenodolf's anarchist split. Which, of course, did nothing except continue to be a punching bag at a fraction of the score that they left with, even after the war. By that time, however, a significant portion of the original invasion force had been depleted anyway.

Demoralized and disinterested, the post-war triumvirate that ruled over SI contributed greatly to the stagnation that followed us throughout the rest of our life. My drop from the political scene and from activity in general didn't help, but things started looking up again when I came back to power. We managed to raise the red color bonus up several percentage points through targeted raids against various small alliances, and morale was high. Sindorin's drama had a unifying effect on us if anything, but handling FA and IA at once was too much for me, and over time, people just became less and less active. I got burned out and was contemplating leaving SI when the Mensa HQ war fell on top of me. With our last two gov members departing to join the rest of the ex-commies from another world, everyone beaten up and nowhere near our warchest requirements, and with myself uninterested in seeing the alliance stagger along and become raider fodder, I decided the best course of action was to just disband.

And so here we are. It was a wild ride, but now it's over, and that's for the best.

Our good friends at Arrgh! will be protecting the Socialist International affiliation from raids while everybody leaves, and white peace has been negotiated with Mensa HQ. The workers of the world have fallen back asleep. So long, and goodnight.

It is sad to see an alliance that has been around for so long depart from this world, good luck to all involved.

[17:17:58] <&Ashland> I will give you hops if you say this phrase:

[17:18:13] <&Ashland> "Man, I really wish Rose had allied BoC a couple months ago when we had the chance instead of picking Vanguard."

[17:20:16] Man, I really wish Rose had allied BoC a couple months ago when we had the chance instead of picking Vanguard.

Sorry to see it happen Hereno. Better things in the future I hope.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a roll.

There is one you will follow. One who is the shining star, and he will lead you to beautiful places in the search of his own vanity. And when there is no more vanity to be found, he will leave you in darkness, as a fading memory of his own creation.

You're no longer protecting the II? We have still teamed with II and TAC (and others) to rival The Covenants. This is getting complex.

Big problems for TSG. Really, not kidding.

If Casey and Cyradis are King and Queen does that mean they're married?

Welp, I'm sure you'll create another alliance.

TheNG - My favorite part is when Steve suggests DEIC might have done something remotely successful, then gets massively shit on for proposing such a stupid idea.

Dammit Mensa. Stop making alliances go away

On the off chance that this is serious, Mensa HQ can't be blamed for our disbandment.

I know we had our disagreements but it kind of sucks to see. Will you be sticking around Hereno or going inactive?

We tried to make it work, but in the end, we all are to blame. Nobody had the time, energy or willingness to really put the alliance together. Overall, I think everyone in SI placed too much expectancy on everyone who wasn't them. I can't and won't blame any particular members in SI for our decline. If anything, we all share the blame, as for the most part, we were pretty anarchistic and individualist.

I had some good times in SI and I hope you did too. But in the end, I think we can all agree that it was going nowhere but downhill. I hope you at least stick around in Orbis, and good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Quoted for truth. Mensa was just the conformation of what we were all thinking for some time.
