L3X
I have an idea born not from stats or strategy guides, but from a feeling. A gap. A real need I saw, lived through, and now hope to fix. If you're not into helping others, trying new things, or reading anything longer than a battle report feel free to skip this post. But if you've ever tried building something from scratch in Politics and War… stick with me. The Problem: Starting an Alliance Feels Impossible Two years ago, I launched my first alliance. It grew quickly. We went to war, we had dreams and eventually, we folded. I joined another alliance and later quit. But the experience taught me a lot about the game’s biggest roadblock for aspiring leaders: Starting a serious alliance without protection is nearly impossible. Right now, if you want to create a real alliance not a pirate outfit you’re expected to already have: A full government (EA, FA, MA, IA) A solid war chest or capital A membership base And ideally, existing relationships in the game Only then will most major alliances even consider offering you a protectorate. Until then? You’re wide open to raids, vultures, and pirates. You’re just a sitting duck with a fancy flag. And what about leadership development? Unless you're lucky enough to be in an alliance with a proper mentorship program, you're expected to jump across Discord servers and forums, bulletins just to learn the basics of running an alliance. It’s madness! So how do you go from nothing to something, when the first few days are a war zone and no one wants to invest in you? You can’t. Not unless you already have influence, friends in high places, or insider knowledge. The Solution: A Two-Stage Protectorate System So, here’s my idea something meant to give aspiring leaders a fair shot at building something meaningful alongside the giants of Orbis. Let them lead a team, share a vision, and develop the skills to one day become a force in PW maybe even shock the macro and micro leaders of today. I call it the Two Stage Protectorate System. Not a replacement for the current system, but an addition. Stage 1 Protectorate: This is where a solo nation can create an alliance and sign a Stage 1 Prot even before they have a government or members. It’s not a full protectorate it’s a mentorship pact. A leap of faith. It is where a pact is made: "Give me basic protection, limited resources, and guidance and I will grow to become your golden egg." Stage 1 Prot would include: Limited defensive support (counter-raiding) Access to mentorship or leadership training Optional (negotiated per protector) A fixed timeframe (30–45 days) This stage gives the new alliance time to: Set up a working government Recruit members Learn alliance management Prepare for full protectorate evaluation Many will wonder though, why this will work? "Invest our time and effort and resources and this dude might stay so low on purpose blah blah blah" yeah all valid points I get it! To prevent abuse, Stage 1 Prot would include: Basic activity checks Milestone reviews (have 3 gov roles filled by Day 20) The right to cancel protection if no effort is shown The right to be perma rolled if any funny business is done! Stage 2 Protectorate – The Real Deal: Stage 2 Prot is the standard system we have today. An alliance with structure, funding, and momentum signs a full protectorate treaty with all the expected terms. However, I do suggest one improvement: Give new alliances time to settle and adjust before throwing endless new requirements at them! When I ran my first alliance, we were growing faster than every other prot in our protector’s sphere. But every milestone we hit just brought more demands. My government team burned out. People left. We couldn’t handle the member intake anymore, and everything collapsed. Let new alliances breathe. Set growth goals but don’t move the goalposts every week. To the macro alliances reading this: How many talented future leaders have you missed out on because they couldn’t meet your rigid prot entry requirements? How many alliances never made it past Day 10 because no one gave them a shot? This isn’t about handouts—it’s about opportunity. The game needs new blood, new names, new ideas. The old guard won't be here forever, and if we don’t build a better pipeline for aspiring leaders, the game will become stale. Let’s give them a fighting chance. Let’s make history a little more interesting. Let’s build the Two-Stage Protectorate System. END tl;dr This idea is my own—no alliance, no affiliation, just one player who’s been through it, hoping to spark change. Edited June 13 by L3X 1 Quote “Build. Fail. Learn. Repeat. Th3BanaN4
Cool idea, could give the new treaty a name other than prot instead of separating in 2 stages.

I couldnt think of any other names other than stage 1 and stage 2. But I like the enthusiasm. It all starts with a name! Quote “Build. Fail. Learn. Repeat.
