Joseph Hazan
I've been thinking that there could be more in-game dynamics focused on internal affairs within a nation, especially regarding the population’s behavior and sentiment. 1. Leader Approval Rating: Currently, the leader’s rating doesn’t seem to significantly affect national stability. It would be interesting if a lower approval rating triggered serious internal consequences — such as citizens' attacks on military units, vandalism of government infrastructure, civil disobedience (like tax refusal), outbreaks of riots, or even mass casualties due to civil unrest. This would make managing domestic affairs more critical and add a layer of realism. 2. AI-Powered Local News Generator: It might also be valuable to implement an AI that generates local news or events across a nation’s states. This system could automatically report on things like crimes, protests, revolts, or simulate public opinion. It would help players stay informed about the internal state of their nation and react accordingly. These features could encourage players to pay closer attention to the population welfare and approval ratings, even while managing foreign relations and asserting sovereignty. Apologies if this seems like a big ask — just sharing some thoughts that might enhance gameplay! Edited May 14 by Joseph Hazan I revised the title to align more closely with the content it represents. 3
Sir Scarfalot
This kind of thing has been suggested before, and the primary problem is that national approval doesn't have a cap, so anyone that's been through a good global war either has upwards of +400% or below -800% approval rating and that doesn't even make sense. Basically, we'd have to rejigger the way approval works first. 1
Mohammad
approval rating has been broken for long time, needs a reset and new metrics to keep it between 0 and 100 and be reasonable
