Fox Fire
Russian Federation places embargoes on Socialist International government Sanctions have been voted into place this evening as the State Council, in conjunction with approval from the Russian Duma, approved measures that blocked trade from governing members of the Socialist International, and other supporting socialist nations. Citing increased oppression, tyranny and the overall degradation of civil and political freedoms in the International by the governing nation of Guyana. The presented evidence concludes that over the period of the last year, political dissidents, and economic reformers have been arrested, tortured or exiled from socialist nations and that many nationalist supporters, and reform minded social democrats have been suppressed from running for office. When asked for comment, a government spokeswoman had this to say, " The Russian government reaffirms it's belief that socialism exists in Russia today, and that while the name of Socialist International may imply such ideological connotations, the reality is far from the truth. Hopefully, Guyana will follow the Russian model and reform itself before a coalition forms against it's will. " The government of Foxburo and Premier Fox Fire are saddened to hear this news. We wish the Russian Federation good luck in their new pursuits and hope that we can continue to maintain a peaceful relationship. Hirohito
OOC: Sorry, been a bit preoccupied with going public with CIS. Back to your regularly scheduled broadcasts... Russian President delivers scathing attack on the Guyanese government President Sindorin addressing a rally near Moscow, earlier this morning The President of the Russian Federation addressed a crowd of some forty five thousand citizens and visitors to Russia this morning, at a regional football stadium. Although most of the rally was addressed at shoring up support for Russia's continued actions as a member of the newly founded Commonwealth of Independent States, part of the message today was directed specifically at the Guyanese government and it's leadership. Citing recent political and economic tensions amid Russia's hasty exit from the Socialist International, the President made it clear that continued harassment of Russian citizens in Guyana, and abroad in International member nations, would no longer be tolerated. A Russia Today report issued last week cited evidence of domestic surveillance against Russian diplomats inside Socialist International member nations, mostly at the behest of President Hereno according to leaked emails and correspondence with diplomatic attendants. "Although the government of Guyana will no doubt deny all charges, President Sindorin said, it is clear that a campaign of anti-slavic and anti-Russian sentiment is continuing unabated across Orbis in socialist circles. This must end. Russia has achieved socialism in it's time; it is now time for others to complete their work as well, and leave Russia to Her destiny." Pwnius Scrubius and of course his whole administration were enraged, with Pwnius ordering a sort of arbitary execution of all jailed persons in the country, then ordering the assination of all suspected crinimals. A honest human mistake. The Enlighted One has been accused by idiots and dimwits for burning the Capitol building, but according to the Codian Intelligence Records and Divisions claimed that this is false but a suicide bomber alledgely destroyed the evidence. Another well sctructured letter has been sent to SI's Hereno due to Sindorin's The Careless actions: Dear Hereno This console peasent here is threatening out trade! I suggest we use the ''Trade Dispute'' CB as a cause for our brilliant campaigns against ''cis' or whatever the stupid alliance is called! Hirohito
Russian military holds snap military drills in southern Russia A Russian T80A on drills in south Russia. Tens of thousands of Russian soldiers, along with hundreds of tanks are taking part in what the defense ministry is calling 'Great Bear I', a series of annual military exercises aimed at refreshing the Russian armed forces from a winter of hunkering down, and maintaining their equipment. Little field exercises are conducted in the harsh Russian winter, due to the extreme conditions of the winter itself. The new program of field exercises will be conducted annually and will involve all aspects of the Russian armed forces, including the Baltic Fleet, where some four warships, and over a dozen aircraft will be taking part in maneuvers as well. Analysts say that the level of hardware displayed in this new wargame is impressive, The army is not fielding it's usual suspects of T55, T64 and T72 main battle tanks, but rather an impressive array of upgraded T72's and the new T80A, a modernized version of the original 1976 platform that currently serves as the staple of the Russian Tank Corps. The field exercises are scheduled to last for one week, and a week's worth of additional class room and field training.
