Dolphman
Thats a bunch of work on sheepy. Its easy to make a basic annoucement system, but editing them takes much more time as he must work with the database much more. Iodine
Thats a bunch of work on sheepy. Its easy to make a basic annoucement system, but editing them takes much more time as he must work with the database much more. ...include an edit link in the post if you have the correct permissions. <a href='edit.php?id=$announcement_id'> ...display the announcement in a text area field to allow editing... <div class='announcement_div'> <form id='announcement_update' method='post'> <input type="textarea" name="new_announcement"> <?php echo"$announcement";?> </textarea> <input type='submit'> </form> </div> ...submit the form and update the announcement text and last update time. You could even update the 'announcement read' field in the database so all players in said alliance know that they have something new to read. <?php $announcement_id = $_GET['id']; $new_announcement = $_POST['new_announcement']; $stmt = $conn->prepare("UPDATE alliance_announcements SET text=?, update=? WHERE id=?"); $stmt->bind_param('ssi', $new_announcement, $current_date_time, $announcement_id); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->close(); header("Location: announcements.php?updatesuccess=true"); ?> Obviously, this is way oversimplified but shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to actually code in. It's a needed feature that is easy to implement. Please put this on your to-do list, Sheepy! Now That I think of it, Sheepy does already have code dealing with updating (User/alliance Descriptions), so it should be even easier. 1 Quote Leader of UPS
Kurdanak
You should all work on being infallible, much like myself. ataraxis
It is not necessarily that there is a typo in the announcements. Perhaps, for instance, circumstances change. Quote #6 in P&W Beta
