Sigma has moved to the black color sphere, in the hope that this will boost our members' revenue and, as a nice side advantage, improve the brown stock bonus (incidentally, this does not affect our color scheme - we will continue using a brown color palette for the foreseeable future).
 
This is now as good a time as any to join Sigma, if you are looking for a safe place to grow your nation; here are some of the advantages and disadvantages of our alliance, as I see them:

• We are, by most standards, as neutral as we can be, or we try: we have no treaties (though we will gladly share alliance markets with alliances that aren't at war), we are not aligned with any alliance blocks, we will declare no offensive wars save in defense of ourselves; whether this is an advantage or a disadvantage is up to you, 
• We have an extremely low alliance tax rate of 1% on revenue, and no tax at all on resources - you decide what to do with your wealth; on the flip side, this also means we have a much smaller alliance bank (it should always have at least $10,000,000.00 on hand, however), and are more constrained in that regard, relying more on the generosity of our members to help others,
• We help younger nations grow by gifting them a few millions so that they can reach their first few milestones; on the other hand, as we are mostly a top-tier/mid-tier alliance, it is more difficult for us to protect smaller nations if they get blockaded, so I would advise younger nations to weigh their options carefully if they are considering joining us (we will not turn away a new nation who persists in wanting to join us in spite of this, however, if they meet our criteria),
• We give out interest-free loans from our alliance bank of up to $6,000,000.00; since our bank is small, however, we might not always be able to give out loans quickly.

Sigma recently broke the 1,600 average score barrier, and now has 6+1 members (obviously, NotABot gains an honorary dictator-for-life position), currently making it one of the most top-tier alliances in the game. Join now to become part of a safe and friendly alliance with experienced members!

 

On a related note, now that we have more members and more funds in the bank, we are considering turning Sigma into an international bank. Nothing is final as of yet, but we will possibly be offering loans and savings services within the near future.
