But seriously TAC, if the guy who is debating you on the existence of the spy is the guy you told about the spy, you need to just man up and admit it. 0/10 would not sign treaty with TAC Eh. Not that I feel, or would feel bad about it either way, but the only thing he actually specifically asked me to keep private and that I said yes to was his confirmation of the spies identity. Pub just up and told me, who he didn't know from Adam --this was either the first or second time we'd ever talked-- that he had a spy in EoS. He brought this up out of the blue in a conversation about a completely different subject. It's not like it was even a private conversation about secrets, the conversation was me asking wtf he was doing accepting Tye and telling him to be careful. If someone in the middle of a conversation blurts out sensitive material out of nowhere I certainly don't feel there's any particular reason it's deserving of staying private and not being shared just because it was a query. Especially not if it's a query with someone I don't have any sort of relationship with or a treaty with their alliance, or some other compelling reason stay quiet. Now I'll grant you that I said I'd keep the name private. That being, said, no !@#$ I said that. If someone blurts out to you that they've got a spy, you're gonna see what other info you can, no matter what you have to say. That's life. I'd also note the identity of the person giving TAC info was known before I ever posted the logs, and according to scuttlebutt, was in fact confirmed by a member of TAC gov. Hardly releasing state secrets. That being said, yeah I said I'd take keep the name private and I didn't. Disapprove of that, distrust me for it. Fair enough. But getting offended that I ultimately chose to publicize the fact that TAC had a spy, when that info was given out of the blue by someone I barely knew, in what was a decidedly casual conversation, where you can't even argue Pub believed he was talking government to government (as evidenced by him telling me to keep it from my government) -- getting bothered over that convo being shared just makes me laugh. Put on your big boy pants. There's no betrayal of anything there. And I don't have a problem with the idea of alliances spying. I don't think it's immoral. It's life, it's part of these games. But if you do spy, why the hell should I trust you? In my experience, anyone willing to spy on one alliance is willing to spy on any alliance if they think they might benefit. And arguing you deserve some sort of expectation of privacy when you go around deliberately rooting private info out of other alliances -- well that's just ridiculous.
