How does Best Fighter not actually have the ones with the best stats?

because none of the stats and such matter. the only voices that matter are those of the alliance representatives. unless you're close friends with them, you won't get nominated for anything.

Imagine "Best Fighter/Raider" not including or being any of the following:

Corleonesi - First player to reach 1,000 wars won (Happened in January 2020)
@hidude45454 - Leaky Faucet combatant with 98 wars dealing the most damage ($8.5B), Highest Net Damage ($6.26B) and taking the most loot ($2.6B)
Pretty much anyone from 99942 Apophis alliance - 2 of them profited over $1B each from Leaky Faucet. Pure profit.
 

It's just a popularity contest with blocs voting for the other people within the sphere. Those that legitimately are the best fighters/raiders are known to those that are active within the field.

True, but when it comes down to it the stats speak for themselves; why would we particularly need to reiterate information that's already publicly there?

Well, there is the acknowledgement, but we're doing that right now anyway.

Not only that but most of my nominations were completely ignored so it's just a 'choose the most known person' type of awards. Expected better tbqh but I know I shouldn't have.

They weren't ignored. Every nomination was counted and considered. They were shortlisted using the alliance representatives, as we explained would happen in the original post at the start of December so that when the polls went up here, they wouldn't be exceedingly long.

Hmm fair. I guess I just misunderstood what you meant by alliance representatives; I thought that was going to be a separate thing. I think the awards are too confusing for me anyways since 90% of the choices I have no idea why they are there and what they did to be nominated. Maybe in the future we should add explanations for nominations. Thanks for what you guys did even if I didn't vote for anyone in the end.

It would be nice if people gave reasons, agreed. I'll definitely keep that in mind for next year; I've got a list going already

Best fighter includers players who may have lower cities, may have been tackled but did way more damage than they ought to have, milcom players who gave out good targets. If it was stats alone we already have auto awards for those players.

These are precisely the kind of stats that I couldn't be bothered to look up.
