Changeup
During discussions with a new player, he mentioned that he received a large amount of recruitment messages, specifically 5 from this Church of Atom nation. Could this be investigated? Messages being sent via a bot multiple times is downright spam.
James II
@Changeup Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Could you please give us screen shots or the nation name so that we can have more information. As we use the exact same code as other alliances, it would be important for us to know if we need to make any changes to the code we've been running for several months. Either @Alex has changed something, or there is an artifact we need to identify. Thanks for all your help! RandomNoobster
It was very helpful of you to bring this to our attention! Only a small amount of nations fell victim to our unintentional spam, mainly due to the nature of the artifact. It turned out that the script closed before it had stored all the id's of the nations it had messaged. This was a problem right now due to the massive backlog of nations that had built up whilst I was busy celebrating Christmas. The script was set to close after 4 minutes, which was more than enough time on a regular day, but apparently not enough for clearing out a big backlog. The bug has been found and fixed, but the process of finding the bug would have been a lot easier if you had linked the nation that received these 5 messages instead of just pointing fingers.

Administrators Alex Posted December 31, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 31, 2020 Thanks for the report, it sounds like this is probably resolved. I trust RandomNoobster will not do this again. 2 Quote Is there a bug? Report It | Not understanding game mechanics? Ask About It | Got a good idea?
