Afaik it was stated in public somewhere (and obviously backroom chatter as well). I don't know swamp's internals and can't speak on what occurred here. Just found the post confusing.

Tyrion made it clear in a Thalmar Radio event that Swamp would be downsizing after the war. I don't know if Tyrion planned to downsize his Swamp to just Immortals and TFP, or if it was just a matter of the others in Swamp not wanting to be part of the downsize. Regardless, my guess is that the rest of Sawmp felt it would be best to pre empt Tyrion's downsizing by creating their own public narrative on it. Or, to simplify a bit, "you can't fire me, I quit!" :-p.

If you think TI was going to kick all 5 of these out by themselves, then you're more delusional than you've already proven yourself to be.  TI clearly underestimated the bonds the other alliances share.

Guess you missed the bit about me simplifying a bit. I don't know the specifics, but it seemed clear that these 5 Swamp Alliances decided it would be better for them to remove TI and TFP instead of being winnowed themselves.
