Repeal and replace, instead of repealing. The idea is if he could use time to delete a feature why not use the same time to create a new feature. You said Alex has to use dev time wisely but deleting features is now all of sudden wise. Just a couple months ago people didn't think deleting beige was "using dev time wisely".
