durmij
When this settles to around 4k, can we have a conversation about player retention and ease of entry instead of just pushing newbs through a meat grinder and assuming they will be fine because other's were? Avakael
Actually, if we're being specific, it was 10,000 people that ruined the active nations chart.
Popular Post Keegoz
Tbf, the video promoting the game wasn't that good at representing what the game was about. 4 4 Quote [11:52 PM] Prefontaine: But Keegoz is actually bad. No because Alex will by a clown like always and go "loooool more active players 100 new nation's a day all is well"

As long as alliances exist that don't take any effort to teach their noobs, and just chew them in and spit them out, retention will always be a problem. Only so much can be done on the mechanics side. This game is already fairly niche as a genre. 1
Thalmor
P&W is an ecommerce business and so if we look at it like an ecommerce business, the numbers paint a fairer picture. When running an advertisement, you have a CTR (click through rate) and a conversion rate (the rate of people who buy/subscribe/create an account). A general example of this would be an ad that got 25,000 impressions, a CTR of 2%, and a conversion rate of 1%. Out of that 25,000, 500 would go to where that ad directs, and then 5 people would actually commit to an action. This line of thinking can apply to a lot of things in life. I bring this up because yes, a lot of the new members from the guy's YouTube video will quit. However, if just 1% is still playing after a month, that's about 70 new players that stuck around to add on to the 3,000-4,000 people playing now. That means something. The spike in new players isn't a complete bust. Or, at least, I don't think it is. Guess we'll seen in a few weeks if there's a noticable increase in the average number of active players across 3 day periods.
Havgle
Well, I'm sure that Politics and War will show up higher on the "country building game" search results as more people show up. Even if people don't stay, it should at least generate more interest in the category. Of those 3-4000 only 1500 are in active alliances and actually play the game in ant substantial way. The others don't do much, and I doubt pay Alex much for it either.
