Popular Post Vali
Alternative to Improvements: Players are given a series of sliders to determine how much money, and how much resources their nation will make based off their population and land counts Population would increase commerce, while land would correspond to resources. Players can allocate their population to resource production or commerce, and can spread them out among the two to whatever ratio they please. Reasoning: It would act as a limiter on resources, because currently if you have 10 infra but still have improvements from 2k infra, you make resources. You need population to make resources in this system. It rewards active players who check resource prices and constantly shift their productions. This stabilizes prices. When prices get too high or low players can shift without having to redo all of their improvements Alternative to Projects: Projects suck because they are either entirely cosmetic like moon landing, or standard like PB. Not much room in between. Everyone has PB, so Alex might as well just give 10% recruitment bonuses to everyone A replacement could be Research lines. Want your cities to cost less? Research Construction to lower city cost instead of bugging Alex to make a project. This transitions into the next phase: Industries Raws-Manufactured-Industres So this would be one step further than Research. Once you finish a research line, you open up an industry that corresponds to it. It would be a global system where nations compete for control of various industries. These industries would give various bonuses This would be done for 2 main reasons 1. older nations have nothing to do once they get big, so it would give them something to compete at 2. it would open the door for newer nations to gain positioning in these industries and climb to the top So honestly, Im not really sure how the details would play out. Basically I envision a global system of nations who hold positions of power within certain industries, with these industries having major implications on global economy. Basically this would enhance the Politics side of the game, to a more dynamic level than "my side vs your side" Anywho, hope you guys like at least one of these, please leave thoughts below
Raphael
I like the sliders part a lot. It simplifies the game without removing any value. Improvements are a hassle, not a customization in my opinion. You'd just need a slider for each resource your continent produces and you'd be golden. I suggested removing military improvements entirely not too long ago and simply replace them with the inherent ability to recruit military. The sliders really address the rest of improvements I think. Maybe leave power plants in the game as a blanket option rather than a city-by-city basis as well. I say keep projects but add research lines as well. I'd like to hear more elaboration on the idea of industries. RADICAL REFORM! I like it. Thanks for the feedback So research would be better version of projects, like if you max out agriculture you get a 10% food production bonus. The cost for each level of research starts really high for level 1 and goes down with each level you buy. This is to encourage specialization. Industries are gained when you completely research a line As to the implications of this, Your nation can found an industry corresponding to the finished research line. Then your nation can begin to allocate its population into this new level of economy. Think of industries as a replacement for baseball This industry is your baby, you grow it like you grow your nation. Global leaderboards showing who has the biggest % of the industry, those who have large percentages of an industry would have larger power. So an industry as a whole would have to work together to advance each others interest. Kinda like color blocs in CN. So it blurs the lines of spheres, and encourages new friendships to be made. How the community would want to see this be constructed is up to yall, really a broad idea of layering economic spheres, military spheres, region spheres etc, making the game more dynamic. Noctis Anarch Caelum
You already kind of can allocate them to either. Citadel, Ethereum has 115 Infra, 5 of each type of Factory, 20 Farms & Max Military Improvements with No Commerce. I Consider this my max production build which ignores commerce in favor of production.
