Map NatRP 2.0 War System (Experimental)

Recommended Posts

Posted below are the screenshots of the War System that I have been working on for the NatRP, a lot of stuff isn't implemented or broken. So I ask you bear with me and provide feedback on everything. I'll check back with everyone on before the map goes live that the war system isn't broken and we are able to use it for the RP. If there is anything you can exploit within the system please let me know so it can be fixed. If something is easily abused when the system goes live it will be changed and fixed to avoid it. Some things may not be worded properly, just keep this in mind.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns just let me know. (Ill also update some of it later on today)

So yea...enjoy.

Nations start with 250 billion.

Updates:

* Rolls will be done by a Discord Bot which will be able to be viewed by the public. They will be off-limits and only used when a dice roll is needed. Should an issue arise a third-party will settle the issue.

* War system will go live on Monday, however purchasing units will be available Friday as the RP goes live. A rough estimate must be represented of what you bought, however you must save personally the amount of units you purchased somewhere in case this change is reversed. All the money must be used at once and will not transfer over. There will be an option to earn money each month to replenish or bolster the military.

* Nation bonuses will be released at a later date

* Clarification: You CAN'T mod your units to be more powerful than other players. You may rp it as something different but each unit has specific traits for the purpose of fair warfare.

Update:

Positioning:

Navies/Ships will be required to be placed within realistic operating areas (EX: One navy/5 ships consisting of X ship and X ship will be positioned by the Coast of Japan to defend Japanese Invasion) and/or (Navy positioned near California to protect West Coast invasion)

When an enemy navy attempts to pass by or invade the defender will be able to choose to either engage or flee if their fleet is in the way of an enemy navy. This is how to engage naval battles or start naval invasons

Air Force: Will be allowed to challenge the skies at all times during a land invasion or naval invasion. The defender will have the option to flee, but will give the attacker air superiority.

Army: An army can only attack provinces that are connected. For a land attack they would attack the closest province to them or disembark from a transport ship on specific provinces.

Armies do not require positioning until war is declared and a side invades. Once a side invades all troops being committed to the war will need to be announced at the start, how many, and where. Due to GPS tracking and a lack of fog of war in modern combat, all movement must be reported.

Update:

Colonies (Pieces of land far enough to be considered a colony) must have their own separate garrison/navy taken from the pool of units created. This is to prevent someone attacking a colony and it suddenly having a HUGE army all at once

However, the mainland can send reinforcements to help aid the colony if it does come under attack (Like IRL)

Update:

Winning a war entitles the victor to a max of 4 pieces of land from the loser. This will not be compensated and instead will be the risk of war. If the defender wins the war instead they are able to claim the four connecting pieces the enemy invaded from. If it was a naval invasion the defender instead now possess a greater chance at striking back. The attacker takes a lower risk of loosing land, but a higher risk of loosing the war due to logistics and distance and so on.

New Unit:

1500 Points Submarine (First Strike Capabilities) 10 Billion

Submarines will have the ability to either protect ships from enemy submarine strikes or have the ability to hunt enemy submarines and enemy ships. A first strike will allow a submarine to score a killing, crippling or missed shot at a ship when starting a fight. Depending on dice roll

If they are detected however before engaging, their first shot will be diminished by a value of 50%

Frigates and above have have the ability to detect submarines

Once a shot has been fired a submarine will be spotted

Changes:

Frigates will have a 25% better chance to detect submarines

By default navies with a frigate or above will preform detection checks without the need of the player to look for submarines

However, if another player attacks, a dice roll will be made for both the defender and attacker. Once for detection and one for damage.

Detection Chart:

1-6 Nothing detected

7-12 Threat detected
