3:15pm, Banned City, Banned Nation:

There are incoming reports of chaos in the Capital. Beloved leader AppealDenied, due to give a speech at 4:00pm has been found dead within his quarters. The capital building and surrounding area are now on lockdown as police, secret service, and federal officials investigate the matter and try to capture whomever committed this heinous crime.

 

3:33pm, Banned City, Banned Nation: 

Incoming report that former Despot AppealDenied was found dead beside his office desk, his beloved saxophone was apparently found covered in blood. As pursuant to the articles of federation of Banned Nation, his lieutenant AFJ will take over as Despot. AFJ could not be reached for comment.

3:41pm, Banned City, Banned Nation: 

JUST IN! AFJ has stated he plans on making a statement in lieu of the speech that AppealDenied was supposed to make at 4pm. Currently #adwasmurdered is trending on social media within the country. We await further information.

3:57pm, Banned City, Banned Nation: 

AFJ arrives with extensive police and military forces to the lawn of the capital building. Only select media is allowed entry.

 

4:02pm, Banned City, Banned Nation - LIVE FROM THE CAPITAL:

"It is with a looming heart, and great sadness that I come before you all today to inform you that our beloved leader, AppealDenied, has been assassinated. My condolences go out to his family, loved ones, and the entire country. I promise, we will find the people responsible and they will be hung for treason. Mark. My. Words." AFJ pauses for a moment as he seems to regain his composure. "I have served this country since it's inception, and our greatness is without question, however, further greatness is upon the horizon. We shall overcome, we shall reach levels of power projection over Orbis the likes of which this world has never seen before." He pauses again, hastily taking a sip of FIJI brand water. "As your new leader, Banned Nation has already approved the construction of another city on the outskirts of our territory. Even now, we are looking for technological advancements across the nation and I have appropriated  funding to automating government mandates. With this smaller, more centralized government, we will be able to efficiently wage war on our enemies, help our poor, our sick, our veterans." The reporters begin to clap and cheer. "Our position within GOONS and Opus Dei remains intact, and there is nothing that we don't see on the world of Orbis. Our intelligence indicates that the assassination of AppealDenied was nothing short of an attempt to destabilize our power. Enemies surround us in Orbis, even now. We see you, we watch you, and you will be brought to justice for the things you've done. That is my promise as Despot." As he speaks, a growing similar to that of a jet airplane can be heard in the distance. The camera's pan to the sky, a single dark grey jet is seen flying overhead. Suddenly, the indistinguishable flare of a missile can be seen as it detaches from the jet. AFJ looks up, an unnerving calm across his face as the jet streaks across the sky. "Ladies and gentlemen, even now, we are under attack. Banned Nation shall not fall. This is my promise as leader, this is my promise personally, as Always Fear Jazz to you, the citizens." 

Military forces quickly escort the Despot from the podium. The cameras return to face the sky, suddenly, the missile seeming detonates high in the atmosphere. A second later, a shockwave is felt throughout the capital city. The television screen drops signal and begins to buzz with static. 

4:15pm, Fortitude, Banned Nation:

The buzzing on the television stops momentarily. A stressed looking reporter in a dimly lit studio is visible. "At this time, all we know is that Banned City has been hit with a weaponized EMP device. More news will be forthcoming as we get it."
