Alliance Page -w- credits

Ive never played a more greedy game than this, and had a more greedy Owner than this. I could literally compare you to Rockstar as even their prices are better than yours. Its sad u have to pay 4 credits for a ANTHEM and a Alliance background. Its just plain greediness and something which is easily bypassed as people can just copy and paste a lint in their alliance description and call it their anthem. But to me its sad being able to compare a game owner to EA. For me it isn't a big deal but just a quality of life. 

Also 2 credits for a alliance badge on the forums... Rly @Alex

Did i fail to mention ur game is gonna die from Goons and NPO. And ur prices are still this high

1. Alex needs to pay for servers to run this game which explains the reason such a system exists in the first place.

2. This game is not supposed to be a P2W, which means something must be locked behind a paywall. How else would Alex get the money to run his servers (see point 1).

3. Addressing prices: In CN the minimum donation price is $30 for all the cosmetics/perks. Compared to that the prices here seem much better.

4. I don't know why you brought up NPO/GOONS as they have little to do with your topic of Credit prices, but why would he care? If the biggest spenders are in the AAs that are killing the game then he looses very little in the short term doesn't he?

With these two points in mind what price would you suggest should these items should be placed at? If not these items, then what should be payed for? How would he pay for the servers if he didn't lock anything behind a paywall?

I think there's a bit of a difference in that this game is free and not backed by the bank of a large corporation, plus credits can be purchased from other players so you don't really need to spend a dime for anything you mentioned. The only problem I really have is how pay to win the credits are, 150+ mil every month seems like an absurd amount of money for paying players to have as an advantage over those that do not pay, I get the game needs people to buy credits to keep it running (and feed Alex ofc) but 150+ mil is excessive.

im not talking about pay to win. Credit prices i could care less of its aesthetics that sould be already part of the game, Plus alex greedy rich boi.

Then please do clarify what you are talking about, because I am afraid I don't understand your point. As to the rumor that Alex is rich, I don't believe that we have had hard facts as to how much he actually has/makes.
Note: Even if he was rich it wouldn't make economic sense to run this off of his personal paycheck if this is his hobby (as it seems)

Im talking about how he makes us pay 12.80 USD or over 60 million in game cash for two things that should come with the game. Also it wouldn't economic sense to make credits so expensive people don't buy them using money. And @REAP3R I totally agree with the dumb pay to win thing.

It seems that you neglected to add some math in that last post. Where did you get that 60mil? While I agree that the credit could be better, I think your estimate is only accurate if every person is paying money to buy credits. As many people merely buy them from other players I would be interested to see where you get such a large sum.

Free-to-play games like Politics & War have two ways to make money:

1. Charge players to advance in-game (pay to win)

2. Charge players for cosmetic (non-game altering) benefits

 

@Lancer made good points in his post. Assuming that we have to reach some minimum threshold to operate the game, that money can come from options 1 or 2. Most people find option 1 far more unpopular than option 2.

If I made all the cosmetic stuff free, there would need to be more of option 1 (pay to win) benefits to maintain the same amount of revenue. So while you may not like that there's a cost to add an anthem and alliance background, in my opinion it's the both the lesser of two evils and still an arbitrary small price to pay.

For example, imagine you and 4 friends get together to make an alliance. I think that 5 established players is a reasonable assumption for any alliance that's actually going to survive and last in the game. You don't have to pay any real-life money, you can buy Credits from other players, at lets estimate $25,000,000 each. You need 4 Credits total, split between the 5 of your nations, so combined you're pitching in $100,000,000 or $20,000,000 each.

I think that's hardly an unreasonable cost if you're really willing to put in the time and effort to actually run a decent alliance.

 

But, I suppose, if you'd like to see less cosmetic options and more straight-up pay-to-win stuff, do let me know.

You also can run advertisements, and a lot of f2p games run an optional thing where you watch a long video advertisement for some in-game currency, premium or otherwise. Sort of like baseball, only with much more value to the advertiser.
