1293
Smoke clogs the air for miles from the still burning fire storms.Tanks lay burnt out and smashed in a valley, and bodies lay dead floating in the creeks and rivers lifeless expressions on their faces, husks of flesh and bone that once harbored life. The streets and highways of the once great cities lay silent. The burnt out and overturned skeletons of cars lay about as trash silently floats and tumbles on the ground like one may imagine a tumble weed would do in a western. There is no sound of people moving about quickly to get to their jobs in the morning, there is no horn honking and talking or the sound of cars and airliners....no sound remains except for the wind and the sound of ravens as they feed on the corpses of man.Soldiers lay dead across the side walks and slumped over checkpoint gates and in their once mighty machines.Airports lay silent with their once busy commute and flying machines, now nothing not even the sun remains, only the light remains...However underground something other than life brews..they lay attached to objects, connected to others or hideously deformed.Monsters they are not people....they lurk and mill about the darkened tunnels like in a night terror.Only they, them and a few humans remain along with the raven, the land once ruled by men and claimed by men is gone...reduced to a wasteland empty of all life that once occupied it gone....gone too are the flowers and the trees.Even the green grass and the flowers lay withered and dead.Oh how i miss the chirping of the robins in the morning or the hoot of the owl at night.-UNKNOWN INDIVIDUAL ON SHORTWAVE RADIO Edited November 9, 2019 by Kenji Isa
