He was just confused and had communism and libertarianism mixed up. Although think its the commies who just think its hip & rebellious, with no idea the real effects of the ideologies & total control it gives the state over everyone. As long as you are completely loyal to the leader, some things are provided free. If getting a surrender isn't even an option on the table, eventually most settle on white peace. Edit: I probably would have told them we can maybe discuss peace again in a month when they wanted an admission of defeat before terms, unless they want to give their surrender. Edit: Although you're more likely to be given run around on peace when you seem a lot more desperate than them. I think people need to be willing to walk away from discussions.
