Inven
My nation is in oil deficit but there isn't any improvement for oil. How does oil work?
Auctor
You either need to be on one of the continents that produces oil to be able to build oil wells, or obtain oil from foreign sources through trade or from your alliance. Getting rid of your two oil refineries should do away with your oil deficit entirely though.
JesterTheSheep
If and when you move continents to drill oil, don't just build oil rigs in all of your cities. That's stupid and wasteful. Instead, pick one city, and build 12 oil rigs. No less. Do that every 3-5 cities, and also build maximum oil refineries in one city per number of oil cities you have. Basically, if you have 12 oil rigs in one city, have 5 gasoline refineries in another. Or the same city, if you have enough infra, but I don't recommend it. 2
DOg
You should really focus on 1 resource; in your case, build coal mines. Anything else can be bought from the market.

No, he's not wrong at all m8, don't lie to a noob. Mirroring cities works when you have the infrastructure to max out every single one of your chosen industries, but in a low infra setting like a low city count new player, he needs to specialize his individual cities so that he gets the full benefit of his limited improvement slots.
